Well given the lifespan of the species, it is equally likely (she was canonically sensible, after all), that she had them at intervals of a Great Year or so, so that each one would be grown up before the next one came along.

That's entirely possible. I wonder if there's some info about their birth dates, and I'm curious about the age difference between Fëanor and Fingolfin too.

I do love this portrait of Nerdanel. I don't know why exactly, it just fits. :D Plus, the very first piece of art of the Feanorians I came across was of a short-haired Maedhros, and I've become very fond of those short-haired elves who pop up every now and again. ;)
