Look! There is LIFE! So we've been pretty fail after finals, but.... yeah. No excuses, really, just a lack of inspiration and a dead muse. Apparently Sera likes to come back with strange, esoteric, OC fics. *shrugs* At least it's something.
Title/Theme: Shockwave
Fandom: Original
Rating: G
The shockwave was all that she felt - all that gave away that something had just passed by. No shadow at the corner of her eye, no small sound - just the slight breeze of something moving fast.
She paid it no mind.
Again she felt it. Just a light touch - a bit stronger this time. The thing had been closer to her when it passed by this time, probably on purpose.
It wanted her attention, and she pointedly ignored it.
This continued for a while, until finally the woman left the busy streets for the less crowded side roads and back alleyways. By this point, the shockwave was more of a light press against her skin - she could now almost feel the other person as they sped past her. She began counting, waiting until she felt the person pass her one more time. She counted again, and spun just before she got to the same number again.
"Who are you?"
It - whatever it was - stopped. Like it was never there to begin with. She frowned, but before she could turn around and continue her way home, she felt something behind her.
"So you noticed me."
She spun around to see a man standing, looking up at the sky, his back to her.
"Of course I did. You were trying to get my attention. What do you want?"
"Your name, first of all."
The girl crossed her arms and stared at the back of the man's head. "And what makes you think I'll give it to you? I don't know who you are."
"I am-"
A moment of stunned silence, as the girl processed the name that had been spoken. "That is a powerful name. I was not expecting..." She paused and shook her head. "It doesn't matter. I am-"
The man nodded. The name fit her, as they always did, for these were not given names that they spoke, but True names. Ancient names that had existed since the dawn of time, names that would always exist, and were not to be freely given. They gave them only because they knew.
This is not the end. Yet this was not the beginning either. This was A beginning - one of many, far from the first, and far from the last.
Let's hope this brings Sera back. *crosses fingers*
