This is me, Playoff-Crazed.
Ok, almost no one I know pays any attention to baseball... but I must needs rant, so I shall do it here...
WHAT THE F*** HAPPENED!?!?!
Anyone else watching the playoffs? I just watched the travesty that occured this evening between the Cubs and the Marlins.
*sigh* I was hoping for a Cubs vs. Red Sox World Series...
The Cubs haven't won the world series since 1908.
BUT THEY ARE LOSING IT. I mean, when a team gives up 7 runs in about 2 minutes, you KNOW something is wrong. ACK!
I have to say, though, I have a lot of respect for the Marlins, now. They are GOOD ('specially their pitcher, Josh Beckett. Wow is he GOOD. I'm a little upset that he is only 23... I mean, HE'S YOUNGER THAN ME... ahem... but anyway, he is good.). I mean, this weekend, they CREAMED the Cubs. I was actually happy that the Marlins won. I didn't want the Cubs to win (and thus go to the World Series) after such a lousy game. HOWEVER
BUT THE CUBS WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO LOSE THIS GAME. Ergh.
And this is on top of the whole crazyness this weekend with the fight between the Yankees bench coach, Don Zimmer, and the Red Sox's pitcher, Pedro Martinez. Ok, why in H*** would they fine Martinez $50,000 for defending himself (and his HANDS) when Zimmer charged at him (yes, yes, we have HEARD that he is a 72 year old man... more times than I can count... HE STILL TRIED TO BEAT UP THE PITCHER). AND THEY ONLY FINED ZIMMER $5,000!! (Blatent bias as far as I can tell... even if Martinez is/was being a jerk, he didn't start the fight).
THIS IS NOT GOOD, PEOPLE. IT'S ONLY BASEBALL. GET OVER YOURSELVES.
I was so disgusted, I almost turned off the TV... instead, I just took a break and came back after the boys had had their hands lightly slapped. ergh.
I need to go crawl into a hole and scream now.
