The dinky little fireplace

Week two at My-house-in-the-woods was more productive. By then I had work people lined up to wreak all sorts of havoc. The amount of dust I cleaned would fill a small desert, but we have results. We've had a closet installed and parts of the guesthouse painted. But most importantly, the ungainly stone fireplace (gas), placed off center in a not so large room, got demolished, its gas line closed off. Good riddance. I don't see why a house needed two fireplaces, but many features in this house have duplicates and triplicates. And then some. There were so many light switches that it took a pair of electricians two days to disable some of them; they hid others behind the fridge and places where they're not so visible. There are still too many, but they told me rest will have to stay, by code. And there are many toilets, one in the laundry room, and almost every toilet has a phone jack. Some of the toilets will be demolished and all the phone jacks will be eliminated this week.

That's it in a nutshell, but it was hectic here. It still is, and we're generating more dust as the swimming pool gets demolished. More cleaning awaits me, because no matter how many times I ask the work people to close the door, they just forget, and so the dust gets into everything.

There's still a bit of a clutter because now everything is just shoved in there.
