Christmassy report

Dec 30, 2010 22:56

Okay, yesterday was utter wank from the POV of an LFC fan but I'm not gonna go on about it in this entry. I've ranted enough in other places already. Let's just say I hope a certain someone isn't in a certain place for much longer. Have the lovely pic of Dagger they used in a recent fitness update instead:

Was so happy they finally used a picture of Danny in a fitness update for once. Of course all the happiness that entry brought was shattereed when he bench-warmed for 90 minutes, but....not gonna go on about it!

This is an update about my glorious 4 day Christmas! 4 whole days off work! Was bliss! :D

I went down to Norfolk for Christmas for the first time in ages! Managed to call in a favour at work and finish at 2pm on Christmas Eve. Adrian and I then drove the 200 miles south east (I slept on and off for most the journey, heh). We had the first of many amazing spreads of food when we got in. Man, I love the food at Christmas time!!

Christmas Day we didn't actually open our presents until like 5pm, much to Henry's chagrin, ahaha. But oh man, what a haul!

I love the fact that both my brothers got me LFC related stuff. And my mum outright refused to buy anything footie related, haha. But yes, I got a new watch and a Radley umbrella, along with other bits and bobs from my mum. Matt got me the LFC slippers. Henry got me the calendar to go with the scarf he'd already given me, bless him. (Cannot wait to put the calendar up! Loving that Agger and Torres months are next to each other, heh). Carmel got me the Glee bag, along with some other bits, hehe. All in all, a good haul! Was so pleased! :D I was also pleased with the reaction to the stuff I bought people (giving is just as fun as receiving, of course).

Christmas dinner was amazing, of course! We had it at like 2pm ish. Unfortunately my throat was so clogged up 'cause of my cold, I could barely breathe and eat at the same time, but meh, least I managed it in the end.

In the evening we watched Doctor Who, naturally. I didn't really take it in too well though 'cause I was feeling so dire by then. But I mostly enjoyed it. Will have to watch it again, methinks. The preview for next series though!! Soooo cannot wait for it to start, hee~

Boxing Day, Ria came over. Best friend makes Boxing Day much better when it's been ruined by the footie being called off (though in hindsight...>.>). She came bearing gifts! I got a dalek mug and this!:

She said it was the best football (more specifically LFC) related thing she could bring herself to buy (she's a sometimes Manc fan, lol) and that it was a good excuse to get me to wear pink for once, heh. I got her a Terry Pratchett book and a big gift bag from Hotel Chocolat. So I think we both did well :D

We played Cranium in the evening. Omg! What an awesome board game. Okay, Ria and I lost to my mum and Henry, but only just barely. I had a complete blonde moment though when I had to hum the Thriller tune for Ria to guess what it was. How did I forget how MJ's Thriller went?? ahaha. I'd be rubbish on Never Mind The Buzzcocks, lol. We watched the new Karate Kid film after that. It wasn't a patch on the original, of course, but I still enjoyed it.

Monday was spent lazing round, watching more films (Toy Story 3 and The Incredibles) until Ria got picked up by her mum. Then I went and watched Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz with Matthew. Just like old times *sighs*

And Tuesday was kinda blah 'cause Adrian and I had to drive back up to Manchester in the evening.

But all in all, a really good few days off. Was great to be back in my old bedroom, finding all sorts of random old shite. I found newspaper cuttings under my bed from the 2001 FA Cup win against Arsenal! It was all yellowing and gross, haha. Also tons of old footie annuals. Interestingly, Iker Casillas was listed as a top goalie waaaay back in 2001. Already a top goalie at 19! Go boy! Ooh and I found an interview with Stevie where he hopes one day to be England captain. So cute! Hehe. Ahh being back in Norfolk makes me so nostalgic, lol.

Anyways, I think that's a long enough entry, eheh. Got another gruelling shift at work tomorrow, then I'm off out to Fab cafe (Dalek bar!!) for NYE celebrations.
