Louise's birthday weekend

Oct 18, 2010 21:19

So here's my entry documenting my weekend, lol.

I got a train down to Weston-Super-Mare, where Louise picked me and Jenni up and we went back to her house in Cheddar. We sat in her room for a bit, watching telly and catching up. (I mostly watched the telly as I'd stolen the remote and put the news on for Liverpool ownership coverage, lol.) Then we went to the front room and played Wii. Jenni and I made Wii Fit profiles, ensuring much hilarity. Apparently I need to put on 8lbs, riiiiiight. We also played some games on it too. I am Wii Golf champion! But not so much on Mario karts, haha.

The others (Hirra, Anna, Laura, Nadia and Dave) turned up at some ungodly hour (9:30ish, lol) and we played more Wii, until we got bored, then we watched some telly. We all eventually went to bed pretty late. With like 5 of us in Louise's room on beds and airbeds, and three downstairs on airbeds/sofa.

The next day we all got up eventually, had breakfast, teased the dog lots (poor Poppy) and then left for our day out in Cheddar Gorge/Bath.

I was with Louise's carload! Lol.

Cheddar Gorge is a gorgeous place! (pun intended :D) Serious vertigo as you drive through it and look up at the towering cliff faces though.

We, of course, bought cheese:

And we went in the Cave shop, which had a glow in the dark toy section:

There was also a wishing well:

Perhaps I shouldn't have been so confident about the Merseyside Derby and used my wish on Liverpool after all :/

We drove onwards to Bath after that, parked up and headed into the centre. It's a nice place, but I kind of marred it a bit because I was so intently looking for a Vodafone shop 'cause of my phone internet not working. I didn't find one though, bah. (and I've fixed it now, btw, with a simple hard reset, bah.)

We stopped at a cafe and some of us had Veggie Skyscraper sandwiches. Gave you serious lockjaw!:

We poked round a few more shops after our late lunch (about 3pm, lol), then we went back and got the cars. We then proceeded to drive to a place that we could have, in hindsight, easily walked to from the centre, doh. Hirra and co. have a really weird Nicolas Cage obsession (they also have a Jonas Brothers obsession, so don't ask, lol) and apparently he used to live in Bath, in one of the houses in the Royal Crescent. So we ended up going there to have a look and generally goof around, heh.

Jumping!

We decided to pretend this was Nic Cage's house and have a photo taken at the front door:

Very shortly after this photo was taken, we heard a noise on the other side of the door and ran away, shrieking ^^;

We made our return to Louise's after this. Btw, driving in tandem is amusing and kind of prompts some law breaking here and there (hey if you're trying to drive in a pair, you can't have one car go through lights and not the other >.>). We had dinner, watched some TV (Harry Hill and the beginning of X Factor, why, my life, fail -_-; ) Then we all got ready to go out for the evening.

Louise's dad and sister very kindly drove us lot all the way to Bristol for our night out (and then her mum and dad picked us up at 3am as well; such nice family members!). We started off at this alternative pub down a backalley - so appropriate. We met some of Louise's other friends here too. We then ended up at another pub, and then another one, which has a club upstairs.

Me actually looking okay in a photo where others look very drunk for once!:

The club was actually really good. Had one room with 80s/90s alternative rock and another room with sort of general rock. Loved dancing to Lovecats followed with some Placebo, brilliant! They also did a mash up of Ramstein and Katy Perry. Hilarious results!

As I said, we were picked up at 3am and taken back to Cheddar. Where I, for one, went straight to bed and sleep 'cause I was knackered, lol.

Sunday was going home day, so we all got up, had breakfast, and got everything packed up ready to leave. Louise's mum and dad gave Jenni and I a lift to the train station and we got on the same train and shared each other's company until Jenni had to switch trains at Birmingham. Then I was left on the train alone with my thoughts as mum texted me twice with news of Everton scoring. Oh depression set in, believe me. Smh.

But over all, a really good weekend! :D

Anyone that got through all of that, kudos, if not, hope you enjoyed the random photos. I have interesting friends, hahaha. I ♥ them.

Better go straighten my hair before The Inbetweeners comes on. Back to work tomorroew, blah :/
