Relay for Life

Hi y'all!

Well, I'm busy as ever and just been informed I am a captain! That's right, I am a captain of the Modesto Relay for Life Wal*Mart Team. What is Relay for Life?

Relay For Life is an overnight event that brings communities together to help support the American Cancer Society- that's all cancers, and its lifesaving mission to eliminate cancer as a major health problem. The Society works hard every day to prevent cancer and save lives by supporting groundbreaking research, affecting public policies that protect us from cancer, and educating people on how to prevent or detect cancer early. The Society helps people with cancer all over the USA. And our efforts at Relay For Life can help the American Cancer Society to keep working toward a cancer-free future.

So, basically, I get to stay up for a full 26 hours, (help me) half walking, half drinking lots of water to stay awake, and explaining why Skin Cancer prevention is so necessary. (That's the kind of cancer my group picked.) I know money is tight for everyone, all I'm asking is if you could contribute $1, that's right, only $1 to help me get started on my way. I don't know about you, but I have lost family, friends, and co-workers to cancer. I know if I ever get cancer, I would want there to be a cure for it. Even if you can't donate $, prayers are greatly appreciated. I'll need all the energy possible. :-D Our date is for June 23-24, 2007.

So read a little more, and check out my link here at the bottom. Thanks for everything!

Can you believe that more than 1.3 million new cancer cases are expected to be diagnosed in the United States this year? Those are staggering statistics, but there is hope. Each of us can do something to save lives and help those already fighting this disease. That’s why I’ve decided to take action against cancer by supporting the American Cancer Society Relay For Life®.
I want to invite you to show your support in the ongoing fight against cancer by joining us for this year’s event. Please click on the link below for more information, including details on the inspirational Survivors’ Lap and the moving Luminaria Ceremony. We hope to see you there! If you can’t join us, will you please visit the site and make a donation to support our efforts? Either way, you will make a real difference in the lives of people facing cancer - and in the lives of the people who love them. Thank you!
