Had a really good weekend with Syd and Monkey. Lots of fun, really tiring sometimes, but lots of fun and I got a lot of exercise holding Monkey and walking and going up and down escalators and climbing through the play place at Chik-fil-a.
Update on moving: We're looking at different suburbs on the east side of Atlanta outside of 285 near (within 45 minutes or so) Conyers. It's funny--Nathan found a site that has crime ratings, and Conyers' rating was under 1 on a scale of 5, with 1 being bad. However, Kansas City was also under 1. Statistically, we should probably be dead or robbed blind. All a matter of neighborhoods and knowing where not to go. We're looking specifically at Snellville, Lilburn, and Lawrenceville. Atlanta folks, if you have any opinions, I want to hear them.
We don't know when yet. Say at least 2 weeks before we know, probably 3, with the pace this company moves at.
However! We will be coming down for a long weekend for apartment hunting and probably him going in to meet people at work. Maybe job hunting for me too, or at least scoping out what my options will be. Snellville has a Jo-Ann, but ... yeah.
Right now we're watching a show on A&E called Runaway Squad. It's about some New York private investigators. The head p.i., Joe, used to be a cop. He said, and I quote, "Before I went undercover in the mob, I helped set up the pimp squad." And I'm thinking, holy shit, this guy was putting away pimps, then was undercover in the mob, and he's still in the same fucking city. Balls of steel, man, balls of steel. Now they're getting all gunned up to go into a brothel to get a girl out. Again: balls of steel. Or brainless. I'm leaning toward steel, though.
