the past 24 hours
Yesterday I was up early so the boy could get to work early. Doesn't make sense to me either.
I put a lot of books into my goodreads.com account. It's like Library Thing, but free. Even over 200 books. Which was why I never really bothered with LT. I have at least twice that many. My count's up to 254. I think I've done a little more than half, but then books can be deceiving in their mass. I have a bunch of thin poetry books.
Kitty, I don't need back Valley of the Horses. I bought it yesterday in hardback.
I also bought another Rachael Ray book. I like her because her meals are meals, not just an entree that leaves you to figure out sides. Last night, I made curry. It smelled so good while I was cooking it. And it was tasty.
Last night I was craving chocolate chip cookies, and Nate said that if he had money he'd give me some to go buy one. But I was like, no, I want homemade. And then he asked if we had chocolate chips. And proceeded to make cookies even though I told him he didn't have to. What's better--he did it all by himself, only calling me in there ("Sweetheart, come here...") after the first batch of cookies was done baking. And they were perfect! I don't know what he did to them, but they were cakier than a normal cookie, and fluffy, and just ... perfect. Completely wonderful.
My to-read list on goodreads.com is at 70. Isn't it sad that I own that many books that I've not read yet? Terrible.
This morning Nathan woke me up again, but it was a much nicer waking than yesterday. Then I got up, and eventually I was sitting on the futon in the living room waiting to hear why a four year old boy wandered out of his house (he was looking for his dog) and my glasses were lopsided and being weird so I pulled them off and discovered I'm missing a nosepiece. Damn it. I've looked all over, especially in the places it's most likely to be (next to the bed), but nothing yet. I'm going to call eyeglass places and see if pop-in nosepieces are pretty standard or if I'll have to get one special from the place I bought these. Except I don't know if they can do that, since the frame that's on the floor is the frame that gets the lenses. Damn it.
