Apartment

We found one we like. The bigger bedroom's window actually looks out into the alley between my current building and the one next door...so I'm moving a total of about 100 feet, maybe a little more, but basically..100 feet. Not too bad. I like the neighborhood. I like the location. The only issue with the place is the parking...we only get one parking place. Luckily, my current street is right around the corner.

Things I'm excited about:
Counter space! Lots more than the other 3 apartments we looked at, even though there's less than the condo.
Price. Only $665 a month, and that includes water, trash, sewer, and I think gas. Deposit's only $250, plus another $250 (half refundable) for the cats and $30/mo pet rent, for both cats (that is, $30/2, not $30 each). Possibility of a third, the girl said, because the landlords are nice like that. So if Nate wanted to get a dog, he could.
Size. Twice the size of my apartment...if you've been to my place, the new place is basically one side of the building instead of half of one side.
Possibility of painting. As long as we paint it back as close as possible (they repaint anyway) or we can forfeit the $100 refund on the deposit. The walls are beige right now, which will be a nice change from white.

Gotta run the cats to the vet (for the snot stuff...I'm sick of it).

Edit: Instead of making another post, I'm just editing.

Cats saw the vet; they did a very good job in the crates on the way there. Suki took a nap and Mojo cried as usual, but there was no vomiting or shitting. At the vet's, they got to explore the room before they got checked out. They both got a thermometer up their butts, which couldn't have been comfortable, and the vet poked and prodded and found nothing wrong except the snot.

And yet she wants to test for feline leukemia and feline AIDS. Um...they have no other symptoms. I looked at pamphlets about each while I was waiting at one point or another, and I read through the list, and I saw excessive sneezing and "scratch, lick or chew anywhere" which I took to mean furniture, floor, etc., but now I realize that that probably means on their bodies, and Suki has mats in her fur but that's because it's thick and I don't brush her as often as I should. And I love that "offensive habits such as jumping, barking, or biting" is included. No, my cat doesn't bark.

I think I want to see if the antibiotics I got will clear them up. I have 10 days' worth, and I go back next Friday to get them looked at again.

I guess I know what my graduation money will be going toward...assuming I get any more. This visit set me back $109...they wanted to do additional tests and give the kitties a decongestant and all sorts of things, but that would have been way over $300...and I can't do that. I just laughed.

Cats did well going around the store (Petsmart; it's attached to the vet's), too. I had to get some dry food and I wanted to get some wet food for their pills. I was going to get a toy, but couldn't justify spending $4 on a feathery thing. I did get some catnip for their ball-in-track scratchy thing, though. So...cross your fingers that my kitties get better.
