They've used a different term for 'acting captain' in this movie than they did for 'acting lieutenant' in the series. It makes me twitch. But I did the best I could two years ago with the information we had at the time, so I'll try not to let it eat at me. :)

Ichigo decking Hitsugaya was fabulous, as was Hitsugaya's gradual acceptance of his friends' help. The ending with Matsumoto was utterly aww-worthy.
There was enough Renji & Rukia and Renji & Ichigo stuff to satisfy even my inner fangirl. Hubby and I laughed ourselves silly at Renji's way of waking Ichigo up. At the end of that scene, hubby said "You know, thousands of fangirls were squeeing themselves silly right there, hoping and chanting 'do it do it do it!'." *chuckle*
The Zabimaru bridge was great, but I kinda didn't see the point, other than just to be awesome. As soon as Ichigo and Rukia reached the top, Renji appeared only seconds behind them. I guess Zabi being so enormous, he could, uh, just loop back on himself while Renji ran up behind them? *scratches head* Yeah, that'll work if I don't analyze it too closely. *grin*
I know they do it every time, but I still get a charge when Byakuya shows up to save Rukia at the last second. That he caught Renji and Ichigo in his saving this time was the super-sweet icing on the awesome cake.
Ikkaku revealed his bankai to Hitsugaya and Matsumoto... and to Ichigo, Renji, Rukia, and possibly Byakuya and Kenpachi. Not sure just how close they all were to see and/or sense that. I guess it's a good thing that the movie continuity doesn't completely mesh with the canon universe.
Shuuhei's kidou was nifty, and I am totally going to have someone use it in fic sometime.
I love seeing the home guard, but I want to see more of them. Orihime and Urahara got one line each. I know they can't fit everyone in, but honestly I could've done with less of Soifon and more of them. But given their specialties, I guess it makes sense. Too bad, really.
The characters were pretty well drawn overall, though some of them - like Isshin - looked a bit different than you might expect.
I thought this movie was better than the first one by far. I have hopes that the new one will be even better. It's such a bummer having to wait a whole year, though!
