‘Now, if I was a brooding six year old, where would I be?’ Nicole questioned silently. They had practically searched every nook and cranny of her neighborhood, and they still found nothing.
Even though she wanted to get this over with, for some reason she wasn’t nervous like she was with the other boys. Kibum had always been a calm and collected kind of guy. He was very independent and resourceful, so she knew wherever he was, he was safe.
They were starting to make their way towards the school and Recreation Center now, and she spotted another park right in between the buildings. Turning around to face the boys behind her, they stopped in their tracks.
“Okay, I’m going to go check in there. You all don’t have passes, so they won’t let you in, and I’m not shelling out any more money for it either. Can you all play here for a little bit?” She asked them.
Siwon nodded. “Sure.”
“We’ll make sure everyone stays here noona.” Leeteuk reassured her.
She took a deep sigh of relief.
“Thanks guys. I’ll be right back, don’t go anywhere.”
Once Nicole flashed her Rec I.D to the lady at the front desk, she made her way to the various rooms and gyms that littered the building.
Weight room?
No.
Swimming pool?
Nada.
Game room?
No one.
She didn’t see anyone that resembled Kibum in any way which brought her mood down. How many more rooms were there? When she made it to the boy’s locker room, she paused in uncertainty. Is it worth it?
“Yah, if there is a kid named Kibum in here, come out!” She yelled through the door.
Nicole kept her eyes firmly closed and waited for an answer.
“Hello?” She questioned again opening her eyes.
A man walked by with only a towel around his waist and she jumped back. Her face was beet red as she tried to collect herself. ‘Oh my goodness he’s sexy.’ Wait, focus Nicole! Ogle at the sexy half naked guy later. Wait, could she later? Never mind.
“I’m so sorry!” She yelled out in panic before she quickly turned and ran away.
When she opened her eyes, she had somehow made it to the theater room. This housed the stage where people would perform plays and musicals. From the noise inside, it seemed like they were having rehearsals. Curiosity got the best of her, so she pushed open the double doors and silently made her way down the aisles. There were people fully clothed on the stage practicing away for their next show, but what caught her eye was the top of a tiny head that was nestled in the middle row. She slowly walked down to his row and made her way to the seat next to him before plopping down.
She kept her attention focused on the people on stage, as did he.
“Kibum…right?”
“Yup.”
“Good.”
“Yup, great.”
“So how long have you been here?”
“Hm, about an hour or so.” She finally looked down at him in wonder.
“Sitting here watching them practice?” She asked slightly surprised.
He only gave her a nod in response. One that she could see now that her eyes had adjusted to the darkness of the theater.
“Your friends and I have been looking for you, you know.” He nodded again.
“I figured you were. How else would you know who I am?” Of course she wouldn’t tell him the real reason.
At least not yet.
They sat there for a little while longer before he suddenly stood up. Nicole blinked and looked at him; waiting for his next move.
“We can go back to the others now. Their practice is over.” He told her simply as he made his way up the row and up the aisle towards the double door.
‘How can a six year old still be so cool?’ There was still a lot about them that hadn’t changed. They still behaved the same way, talked the same way and liked the same things. That’s probably why Kibum came to the theater; because he loves acting.
She finally smiled at his back before following after him.
Mission Find Kibum?
Success!!
