It's been a while while while since my last post. I have barely even had time to be on-line, which is kind of a disrupting change, seeing as that's exactly how I used to spend nearly all my spare time. BUT, I'm hoping with some life changes that I will be a bit more diligent in my posting/commenting, at least for a while.
The past month has been super busy. I've been working at my bullshit restaurant job, spending mucho time with Bovie, and umm... yeah. I finished my law school applications (fingers crossed), then quit my job/found a new job last week. I'm gonna start saving kids. Specifically, I will be fundraising for Save the Children, as they work on a campaign to improve education and health care for children in the Baltimore area. I have my first day tomorrow; we'll see how it goes. I'm excited about the change and looking forward to the opportunity to do something meaningful with my time and energy. For a change.
I made a kinda last-minute trip to NY this past weekend, which pretty much kicked ass. Spent Thursday with Lisa, drinking beer and watching Beavis and Butthead, then we met up with Erin, Eric, Meredith, Kristin, and Bennett for dinner. Followed by way too much drinking, at which point Ross and MP also joined in. It was a fun night, although I kept drinking past the point of speaking coherently. Friday Kristin came babysitting with me (for one of my Toronto families visiting NY, which was the initial impetus for my own visit). Saturday was another bender, beginning with brunch, galavanting about with Mark and Erin, then meeting up with Eric at some party in B-burg. Brandon called me at 1.30 am, at which point we went out for yet more drinks, but that's okay because I was having fun and really wanted to see him on happier terms than our last visit.
In the midst of all of this, I find out that Morrissey is playing five shows at the Apollo and tickets go on sale on Saturday. Fifteen minutes of busy-signals and I get through, only to discover something terrible had happened. All five shows are f'n sold out and I have no tickets. It was quite a travesty for myself and others, and I almost puked. A bit over dramatic, but I couldn't help it. Anyway, today I get home from work and there is a stuffed bear in leopard-print fabric, made by Bovie, accompanied by a card that says "make no plans for May 8." I called him and it turns out he somehow found two tickets and that fucking rules. So, long story long, I am going to see Morrissey after all and I almost peed my pants.
Wheeeee! Tonight is Curt's birthday, so we are hitting the bars and then the bowling alleys. I must get ready.
P.S. I am going to see Morrissey.
