For some peculiar reason, I thought I could be coherent.
Nope, still can't.
What I can comment on in a relatively calm manner (all due to practice) is that I'm hell bent on going to the UK. I'd prefer London, but I'll take Cardiff or Glasgow. Just something major with jobs for a Building Services Engineer.
Oh, yeah! I wanna be a Building Services Engineer. Why? It's a Mec E job using a lot of what I learn (unlike Project Management) with a touch of Architecture. I have a weird obsession/fascination with buildings. I just love how they're this little perfect, controlled environment and how much unknown skill, dedication an thought goes into it to make the perfect environment. And I'm an advocate for having all the right settings. Setting is everything. If I had a pint of creativity instead of half an ounce I'd become an architect. But I don't.
Yeaaaah....
The past few days have just been me delving into Building Services, trying to find out EXACTLY how to be one, what the job prospects are like (where and how stable) and anything else that gets me to the UK.
And then this sold me (from WorkGateways.com):
"Within the Mechanical and Electrical engineering discipline, jobs for building services design engineers are in high demand; in particularly for commercial, office and institutional (Health, Education) projects in the UK. Projects include new-build and refurbishments and can be located UK wide though tend to be available mostly in the greater London and Midlands and North West (Birmingham up to Manchester) area. British M&E Engineering Consultancies are experiencing a shortage of suitably qualified and available candidates with a strong background in the design of HVAC and fire protection systems."
And the stuff was updated this month, so it's definitely recent.
YAYZ. I can work in the UK and work in building services! *does the happy dance*
And no, I've never heard of Building Services Engineering before I watched a PBS special promoting Green Buildings. And now I'm hell bent on being one.
