RP MEME!!!!!

1. How about a brief introduction?
Heyla, it's me Akito. Nuff said?

2. What got you into role playing?
Honestly, I had been roleplaying since I was in High School when I played Dungeons and Dragons, but that was more of a stat gaining dungeon crawler than true RPing. I got into real RP when I stumbled across AF when I was looking for basic rules for my own Angelic Layer game, and I saw that RPing was more about character interaction than about stats.

3. What kind of games do you tend to be drawn to?
I tend to gravitate towards games that have an emphasis on story instead of stats. I really don't look at it as a game, but more as a chance to write cool storylines.

4. Which one of your RP characters is a fan favorite and why do you think people think so?
Depends on who you talk to. But overall popularity, I think Kensa is the fan favorite, just judging on the crack that everyone comes up with for him.

5. What post/thread are you most proud of?
"What Dreams May Come". Now THAT was a fan favorite. Seriously, I totally did not expect people to be so into that storyline, or else I would have made it more complex and strung out. It's also what inspired Angelic Dreams.

6. Do you find writing easy? Hard? What aspects do you struggle with?
Wow, that's tough. One the one hand, writing comes naturally to me, and I've refined my technique to the point where most of my stuff is pretty readable. But still, I tend to get major cases of writers block, where I know what I want to write, but I just don't know how to put it on paper.

7. Do your characters tend to share similarities in physical appearance? What about personality?
Well, with the exception of Akito and Kensa, no. But come on, they're twins. Personality-wise, I like to switch things up and try different tropes with every character.

8. Write a few sentences on your favorite pairing.
It will never, ever happen in canon, but AkiMiki makes me go squee. It's the whole guilty pleasure thing, Mikomi knowing that she can't get close to Akito or else she'll blow her cover, Akito knowing that he DOES have a girlfriend but not being able to shake this attraction to Miki. It's major angst drama, which is just delicious. But again, it'll never happen.

Oh! One more that WILL happen. Khairyi x Serra. Those two are perfect for each other, and its a real attraction of opposites. I think the two of them will really balance each other out, and I can't wait for it to get going ^_^.

9. Do you have any big pet peeves when it comes to RP?
I am AF's biggest grammar nazi. I can't laugh off bad writing, it just tweaks me out so much. Also, people who want to argue with the judges really annoy the shit out of me.

10. Are you guilty of any of the pet peeves you hate?
Yeah, sometimes I argue with the judges, mostly Windy, but mostly over how to treat people who are being dicks on AF.

11. What was the first game you joined? Fandom, Original, or something else?
AF. It will always have a place in my heart.

12. Name your favorite RP Character and what it is about them that you love to write.
I've got two, for opposite reasons. First, I love RPing Akito, because he's just got so many character flaws that he takes for virtues. He's got a habit of taking on the whole world, refusing help and thinking that he's being noble for doing so. A lot of the trouble he gets into is his own doing, but he does it with the best intentions at heart. I also like playing Serra because she is everything that Akito thinks he is. Serra genuinely wants to help, and is very self sacrificing, but she doesn't actively see the situation like that. It's more that someone needs help, so she helps. She's sweetness and light, and it's going to make me very sad when I put her through all the stuff I have planned for her.

13. What would you call your writing style?
Dramatic expository style. My writing style is focused on forwarding the plot and setting stuff up for later on.

14. Do you have a set group of people you tend to RP with? If so, what is it about them that makes you stick around?
Most of the inner circle at AF are my RP buddies, because they can actually write. It's one thing to write, and it's another thing to RP, and I appreciate having people who know how to write rounded characters and create deep, believable stories with me.

15. Name one thing/scenario/character you'd love to write/pick up but have been too afraid or shy to do.
I so want to get further into the FA storyline, but I'm afraid most of the judges who are setting it up will stomp on me for ruining the surprise.

16. Do you feel uncomfortable taking criticism? Or worse, do you have the dreaded bloated ego?
I like taking concrit, because it helps me improve on my writing. However, I am very, very proud of my writing skills, because it's one of the things that I do best, so every now and then I creep ever-so-close to the bloated ego line.

17. When you write, is there anything that helps?
I have to be completely focused to write, so I can't have anything else going on.

18. What inspires you?
Akira Kurosawa said that in order to be a good filmmaker, you should watch good films. I believe that can be applied to pretty much any art: in order to be inspired, I usually read a lot. Good writers borrow, great writer subtly steal ^_^.

19. Lastly, how would you sum up your RP experiences and you as a writer?
RPing has definately rounded me out as a writer. Writing is like a muscle, and you have to excersize to get it strong and keep it strong. AF and it's affiliates are the equivelant of my gym.
