Not my daughter, you bitch

For those who do not know (I haven't seen any mention of it in fandom, though I'm sure it's being discussed), the Leveson Inquiry is an inquiry going on right now into the (almost non-existent) press standards in the UK (prompted by the Ruper Murdoch phone-hacking scandal); I'm finding the whole thing fascinating. Something it has produced (apart from more evidence that Hugh Grant is in fact quite possibly more intelligent than anyone in this government) is J. K. Rowling discussing her dealings with the press: most of it I find depressing and sometimes heartbreaking (I am firmly on the side of the 'celebs' here), but this one little titbit I thought was so glorious I wanted to share it:

A week after giving birth to one of her children (it doesn't specify which), she left the house for the first time, after being "besieged for a week" by paparazzi. She thought they had all left, so she went outside with her daughter and the new baby in a pram, but she then spotted a long-lensed photographer, flew into a rage, and gave chase (while pushing the pram):

"How I thought I was going to outrun a 20-something paparazzi...my daughter was saying 'Calm down Mum, calm down, it doesn't matter,' but it mattered enormously to me."

While on one level it's horrifying, on another it's just the absolute best fucking image. Fuck I love her. Absolute fucking bamf ♥
