I Wrote Fic! and, Feelings on Underage Sirius/Ginny
I posted a little 2000-word Sirius/Ginny story a few hours ago! Crazy times. I've been playing around with all the half-finished fic that's been sitting on my computer a lot the last year, but this is the first thing I've posted since summer 2009.
The story in question was first started in 2008. I actually mentioned it in this post from 2009. The original looked pretty different. It was less ... stark, and more - dreamy, maybe? And when I started playing with it last week, I thought it had some potential and I realised it was almost finished, but I wasn't comfortable with it. Specifically, with the eroticisation of the relationship (it is set in Order of the Phoenix, so Sirius is ~35 and Ginny is, um, 14). It's weird that it didn't bother me and now it does. I wouldn't have a problem with someone else writing that; I might well read it. But I can't write that myself; not casually, anyway. So I worked on it and now it's a different story: the sequence of events is the same, but the narrator, person and tone has changed, and I don't think anyone would call it erotic anymore. Don't really know if I think it's any good.
Also, having never written Sirius before, I'm certain it's chock-full of angsty-Sirius stereotypes, but oh well.
