After the two couples left, Yabu stared at himself on the mirror. He recalled what Keito had said to him. The inconvenient truth about Keito’s feeling.
*Flashback*
“Actually, you’re wrong about me and Hikaru.”
“Eh?”
“Maybe you don’t know how sad and crazy I was when she left suddenly. I could stay in JUMP is because of her. Her kindness and friendliness made me felt being welcomed. That’s why when she’s missing, I’m so scared what if she never came back. Could I still be in JUMP?” Keito explained.
“You’re always in JUMP, Keito.” Yabu said reassuring him. “No matter what… all of us will…”
“I understood, Yabu-kun.” Keito cut Yabu’s words in. “But it’s not as fun as if there’s no Hikaru.”
“You’re right. She is the one who can make all of us burst out laughter.” Yabu agreed with Keito.
“It’s more than that, Yabu-kun.”
“More?” Yabu gave Keito a questioning look.
“When she left, she also took my half of happiness with her.” Keito looked at Yabu to see his reaction. Keito could see Yabu’s eyes went wider than before. The eyes filled by question.
“Does it mean…”
Keito nodded signaling what Yabu was thinking was right. “I fall in love with her.”
Yabu was taken aback. He ever expected Keito had a crush to Hikaru. However, hearing directly from Keito gave him a weird feeling.
“But I’m so scared to confess to her. I don’t want to ruin the relationship we’ve had. Even though she never said she loved you directly, somehow I could feel it at that time. From the way she looked at you, from the care and attention she gave to you, from her look when you smiled and complimented her. Moreover, her sudden leaving was right after you and Inoo-chan became a couple. That’s why I tried my best not to ask about her feelings since I was scared it only reminded her with the hurt and cheered her up. I did my best to show my care to her but in the end she keep choose you.” There was bitterness in Keito’s voice.
Yabu suddenly realized Keito’s words ‘fall in love’, ‘fall in love’. Keito still had the feeling even now. Yabu was not sure how to react in such situation. However, he definitely would not take any back steps. “So, what are you planning saying it to me?” Yabu asked.
“Nothing…” Keito was about to continue but Yabu’s raised voice made him stop.
“Don’t fooling around. If you didn’t have any intention, why should you tell me? It’s better if you just silent!”
Keito was shocked. His eyes got wider. “Yabu-kun… I… I…”
However, Yabu did not want to hear anything from the younger one. “Why is today? Why must it be today amongst the days before??? If you want to make a love confession, don’t say it exact at the wedding day!” Yabu placed his hands on Keito’s tuxedo and grabbed it. “You said you don’t have any intention… I never had a thought you’ll be a big liar, Keito. You want her, right? You really want to be at my place.”
Keito only looked Yabu in his dark eyes and listened to what the older said. All of them were right. It’s better if he did not say about his true feeling at that time. It was too late. It’s so so so so late. There would not be a miracle he could stop the wedding. Hikaru was like a blue rose for him. However, he only wanted to share it to someone. He believed Yabu would understand him. Yabu also had experienced how sad and miserable a one-sided love before. However, apparently he was wrong. Yabu did not want to care. “You’re right! I’m dying to be at your place, by her side, love her properly, and show how much I care about her to the world!!! I want to take her away from you. Take her to a place where you can’t find us!” Keito shouted telling what he really thought.
Yabu snapped. “How dare you say that?!”
“What’s wrong?! You’re the one triggered it. You are the one demand the truth. You are the one has wish to hear it. You are the only one HINDRANCE between me and Hikaru!” Keito finally blew up his emotion. He stared at Kouta sharply.
“A hindrance? You know I never be.” Yabu retorted. “I believe you realize what you have done. And I also believe you know what I’ll do or I won’t.” Yabu stared sharply at Keito.
“I don’t care!” Keito was angry. He managed to push Yabu back and free himself. “I don’t care anymore!!” For the next few minutes neither Yabu nor Keito said a word. The two members of Hey! Say! JUMP only stared to each other, unbelief with what had happened between them.
End of Flashback
Keito had honestly told Yabu he fell in love with Hikaru -his fiancée- since a long time ago. And Keito still felt the same amount of feeling towards her. Yabu could not understand why Keito said the fact a couple hours before the ceremony began. Did Keito hope something would change? Something alike he would stop the wedding and leave Hikaru. Yabu definitely would not do such action. He loved Hikaru with all of his heart. It was true he ever break Hikaru’s heart once and maybe gave Keito a chance to get closer to Hikaru indirectly. However, Yabu had realized his mistake and managed to get Hikaru back to his side. Since that day, Yabu promised to make Hikaru happier and they finally decided to get married. He was a fool if he had a thought to leave her. Besides, Yabu could also felt how deep Hikaru’s love to him as well. He did not want to barge it out, but it was true. Hikaru never left him even though he had hurt her. Hikaru was the only one encouraged him to gain what had left from him. She did not care how hard it would be as long as she could see the ‘Yabu’ everyone knew. Yabu would break his own promise and Hikaru’s heart once again if he left her. Yabu then strengthened himself to stay up with his decision. He did not let Keito’s feeling interfere his decision. He had made up his mind to take Hikaru as his wife for the rest of his life.
Ten minutes after the silence filled up his room as he was thinking, he heard the voice on the door. “Come in.” He said. The opened door revealed a familiar smiling face. She looked elegant with his red dress as she walked in.
“Hi, Yabu-kun.” She addressed him.
“Hi, Inoo-chan. As always you look elegant and so high-classed.” Yabu replied smiling.
“Sou desu ka?”
“Yup. You and Takaki perfectly match to each other. People will think you are a noble.”
Inoo forced a smile on her face.
“I hope both of you can follow us soon.” Yabu excitedly told his wish.
“I don’t think so, Yabu-kun.” Inoo replied.
Yabu tried to guess the reason. “You still want to pursue your career?”
Inoo shook his head. “I won’t marry with him.”
Yabu widened his eyes, disbelief at what he heard.
“Eh? Why? You love each other, don’t you? Or there’s something bad happened?”
“I…I…”
“Inoo-chan, you can tell me.” Yabu said as he walked approaching Inoo.
Having Yabu so close like that drove Inoo crazy. She closed the distance between them by placing a kiss on Yabu’s lips.
Yabu right away pushed Inoo away and stepped back. He could not believe what was going on with Inoo today. Inoo was Takaki’s girlfriend and Yabu was Hikaru’s fiancé. The kiss should not be happened between them. It would hurt Hikaru and Takaki at once if they found out.
“I-Inoo-chan, what was that?” Yabu asked in disbelief.
“I-I-I…” Inoo stuttered to explain.
“Inoo-chan… please, don’t joke at the time like this. You know we’re forbidden to do such thing. We don’t have special relationship anymore. You’re with Takaki now. And I’m with Hikaru. You can hurt both of them, you understand, right?”
“I know, Kou-chan. I know. But… but I’m not joking. I truly want to send my feeling for you… I still love you, Kou-chan.” Inoo looked at the floor as she did not dare to stare at Yabu’s eyes. She knew she would only beg him to leave with her right now if she did it.
Yabu was taken aback hearing how Inoo called him. She called him ‘Kou-chan’ like the days had been passed away. When they were together in special relationship years ago. “Inoo-chan…it’s not funny. You’re not serious with your words, aren’t you?” Yabu felt his head was spinning with the sudden situation. Although Hikaru was not with them, Yabu felt as if she was there, looking at him with sad expression.
“I’m serious, Kou-chan. I’m sure you can see when I’m lying or not.” This time Inoo looked Yabu in the eyes, sending him the truth.
Yabu shook his head for many times as he took another back steps. It’s true he could see whether Inoo was lying or not. And from his observation, this time, Inoo was serious with her words. “Why… why now you say it? You’re the one who left me. You said you didn’t love me anymore back then…”
“I’m sorry, Kou-chan…”
“Don’t call me, Kou-chan…” Yabu tried not to raise his voice higher than this. He was shock, very shock until his brain could not function like it usually did.
“I knew it, Yabu-kun…” Inoo started again, changing how she called the older man. “Back then, I can’t deny the fact that I didn’t love anymore. I fell in love with someone else. And I didn’t care with your pleaded to stay by your side. I’m truly sorry for that, Yabu-kun.”
“So, why are you now coming here and saying that nonsense?” Yabu pissed off.
“Because… I start feeling it again. A love for you.” Inoo carefully answered, trying to make a move to approach Yabu’s heart.
“How come? It has been years ago. Didn’t Takaki always give his everything to you?”
“I don’t know, Yabu-kun. I know Yuuya always gave his attention and care for me, but I don’t know I felt never get enough from him lately. And what makes it the worst is after you said you had officially proposed to Hikaru. I started feeling weird with both of you. I’m always sad seeing the happiness on your face while you’re preparing your wedding.”
“Is it you only want to get married as well?”
Inoo shook her head again. “Day by day I realize it more. I’m jealous of Hikaru for being able to be your wife. I’m sad because you choose her. I’m sad I’m not the…”
“Stop! That’s enough already…” Yabu did not want to hear anymore. He had enough with the thing called ‘confession’. Inoo’s further explanation only would give another hesitation on his heart.
“But…”
“Enough, Inoo-chan. You had ever once the chance to be my wife, but you decided to throw it away. And I’m sorry I can’t give it to you again. I have given it to Hikaru. She is my everything now.” Yabu prevented Inoo to force him to listen.
“You ever thought about marrying me, Yabu-kun?” Inoo asked, sounding a bit relief and happy.
Yabu took a breath. “Almost, Inoo-chan. Back then, I really fell for you but… are you sure you want hear this?” Yabu asked as he afraid to hurt someone he ever loved once.
Inoo nodded and stared at Yabu lovingly, hoping it would be something good. Something like a worthy memorable thing.
“I was madly in love with you. I could do everything for you but… to be honest… I didn’t think about marriage at that time… I only thought about to be beside you… and ever once thought about you being one of my prospective fiancée…”
The story Yabu told only broke Inoo’s heart into pieces. Yabu only thought about engagement… not a marriage like in Hikaru’s case. “How about Hikaru?” She asked bitterly. “Did you think about an engagement at first as well, before marrying her?”
“I’m not going to tell you.” Yabu would not tell Inoo the truth. Since Hikaru nearly lost her life to save him, one thing Yabu thought every day every single second was marrying her. He wanted to keep her from harm. Hikaru had given him many things in his life. He definitely returned all of them until his death.
“I have told Takaki and Hikaru this.” Inoo looked away.
“What? Are you crazy?”
Inoo raised her voice. “Yes, I am. I’m crazy with unstoppable love for you. It hurts, Yabu-kun. It hurts. I believe I can’t breathe until I say it to both of you. Besides, Yuuya actually have feelings towards Hikaru.”
“What do you mean, Inoo-chan? Don’t lie to me!” Yabu almost shouted with another thing he called nonsense.
“I heard his talk with Dai-chan and found out how care he is to Hikaru. He only thought about Hikaru’s feeling over and over… What is that unless love?” Inoo argued.
“Do you hear he said he loves Hikaru?” Yabu intelligently asked.
Inoo silenced.
“That does not prove anything.” Yabu relieved with Inoo’s silence. It was a fact Takaki never said he loved Hikaru. It was purely a care for a friend. “I know Takaki won’t do such thing. He only loves you and I’m sure…”
“Unfortunately, you’re wrong. Takaki has admitted he also doesn’t quite sure for his feeling for me again. And for your information, he said it directly to me. He said he also feels kinds of love for someone else. Who do you think it is, Yabu-kun?” Inoo sharply stared at Yabu.
Yabu could feel pain, confuse, betrayal in his heart. He did not believe such thing would happen on his wedding day. First, Keito said he fell in love with his wife to be, second, Yabu’s past love said she still loved him and Hikaru knew it, and the last the rumour about Takaki loved Hikaru that Inoo’s talking about. Yabu was confused. He did not want to hurt anyone, but apparently there was no way to him. If he wanted to catch his happiness, he would hurt people near him. And if he let his happiness go, would everyone be happier? Was he strong enough to lose Hikaru this time? After all what happened between them? After all she had done for him, showing how much she loved him? After he promised to always be together with her?
“Inoo-chan, I can’t believe all of your words. I only believe the fact you still love me, and the rest… only something unclear… a mere rumour… mainly if Takaki loves Hikaru. “
“Yabu-kun?”
“And if it’s really true, Takaki will step aside. Don’t you know what Hikaru is for me, Inoo-chan?”
Inoo felt as if a heavy rock fell on her head hearing Yabu’s question. She knew Hikaru was someone important for Yabu even when they were still a couple. The attention Yabu gave to Hikaru back then sometimes triggered the jealousy on Inoo’s heart. And then… after she broke up with Yabu and then Hikaru became Yabu’s girlfriend, the attention got clearer and tenderer than Inoo ever expected. Inoo was uneasy with the fact she witnessed and then without knowing she fell in love with her ex lover.
“I don’t think you want to hear it, Inoo-chan. You only hurt yourself if you really love me when you hear it. So, I don’t want to say it. I don’t want to hurt you either. You’re my friend and you ever being someone dear to me and Takaki. I’m sorry. I have made my mind. I have decided. There’s no way for me to look back on the past now.” Yabu slowly muttered hoping Inoo could understand and stopped wishing him.
“Yabu, what if I said it earlier…” Inoo nearly gave up seeing Yabu’s eyes and hearing his words.
“Maybe nothing would change, Inoo-chan.” Yabu said inwardly. “Don’t say it, Inoo-chan…please. It only hurt you, me, and the others. You will someday find a proper someone to love and be loved.” He replied sadly.
“Yabu…” Tears began rolled down on Inoo’s cheeks. She was beaten up.
“Let’s forget about it.”
“Yabu-kun. It’s almost the time.” Dai-chan came in followed by Takaki. There’s thick tension amongst them. They saw Inoo chan was sobbing.
“Takaki, why do you hide all of this?” Yabu asked straight forwardly. He knew Takaki would catch his question.
“Rei… you…” Takaki looked at Rei with sympathy look.
“I-I’m…” Inoo had no strength as Takaki looked her in the eyes. She did not have any idea what to say since she still shocked by Yabu’s rejection.
Takaki then averted his eyes to Yabu. “I don’t want to…”
“Making me and Hikaru worry? What the hell on your mind, Takaki. It doesn’t go well in the end although you covered it up.” Yabu a bit annoyed.
“Yabu-kun, Takaki did this for you and Hikaru.” Daiki helped Takaki.
“Hikaru knew it already, Inoo-chan said she told Hikaru as well.” Yabu told them coldly.
“What??? Rei, what’re you thinking and planning…?” Takaki did not believe Inoo could do that. He only expected she was going to tell Yabu.
“I want Yabu Kouta!” Inoo started crying louder.
“Rei, didn’t I tell you to forget all of your feeling? You know you can separate Yabu and Hikaru…”
“I don’t know until I …”
“You really want to make them apart, Inoo-chan? How can you have such thought?” Daiki asked.
Takaki tried to persuade Inoo. “Rei, you have to face the reality. Yabu is Hikaru’s now and she deserves him.”
“Why do you always on Hikaru’s side, Yuuya? Is it her who you love now?” Inoo was so depressed.
“Rei!” Takaki almost yelled at Inoo for saying nonsense.
“Kouta…”
They stopped arguing as they heard Yabu’s brother’s voice.
“Nii-chan…”
“What’re you doing? It’s already time for you to go. Do you change your mind?” He questioned the unusual thing Yabu did, being a late.
“Definitely not!” Yabu exclaimed.
“Hurry up.” Yabu’s older brother impatiently looked at his brother.
“Wait a sec.” Yabu turned back to his band mates. “I’m sorry for making you cry, Inoo-chan… but I love someone else now… truly in love… You have to accept that… I was yours in the past… but from this time and on I’m not yours… I’m sorry” Yabu looked Inoo with pitiful eyes.
“It’s not your fault, Yabu-kun. I’m the one who responsible. I can’t keep her.” Takaki sadly replied Yabu.
“That’s not your fault too, Takaki-kun. No one can be blamed for this. Heart is something you can’t predict easily.” Daiki said.
“And Takaki… is it true if you love Hikaru as well?” Yabu had to know the truth now. He wanted to know how many friends he hurt for this wedding. The wedding for his way to reach his happiness.
Takaki smiled. “It’s true that I love Hikaru… She’s a kind person… how could someone not love her.”
“Takaki….you….” Yabu and Inoo gasped, startling with Takaki’s answer.
Takaki then continued, “Don’t get a wrong idea. I love Hikaru when she’s with you, Yabu-kun. She seems like to shine whenever she is near you. And it’s true as well if I love someone else besides Rei. But that person isn’t Hikaru… I guarantee it, Yabu-kun. I’ll never steal her from you. I know for the best how the two of you need for each other. I love someone, but I can’t introduce to you yet. I want to fully forget about my love for Rei before I start new relationship.”
“Thanks, Takaki. Once again, I’m sorry Inoo-chan, Takaki. I hope you two can find your happiness.” Yabu bowed down and walked to the door. “ Inoo-chan if you can’t attend the ceremony, I don’t mind it. I don’t want to see you hurt. And please, move on… don’t do something stupid like I ever did.” Yabu did not look at Inoo as he said his advice. “Still want to be my best-man?” Yabu asked to Takaki.
“Of course.” Takaki said whole-heartily. “Yabu’s right, Rei… and I’m sorry you experienced this such sadness. We now have our own way… but don’t forget… you’re always my friends… that will never change.”
Daiki approached Inoo who still crying. “You’ll be all right, Inoo-chan. All of us will not let you drown on sadness endlessly. You have to be tough, face it on, and make a new step for a new life.” Daiki then hugged the fragile and crying Inoo. “Guys, you can go first. I’ll accompany her awhile.”
“Dai-chan…”
“It’s okay, Yabu-kun.” Daiki smiled.
“Arigatou, Dai-chan.” Takaki deeply looked Daiki in the eyes. He was grateful having a friend like Daiki. He could understand him more than he expected he would be. “I’ll wait you.”
“Douitashimashite, Takaki-kun… and I’ll surely come.” Daiki replied.
Yabu and Takaki walked side by side to the hall. Takaki tried to focus his mind on the wedding. He wanted to forget awhile the sobbing Inoo from his eyes. It was the best for the two of them, to have their own way looking for the true happiness. Yabu, on the other hand, behind the firm steps he took, he secretly hid the anxiety in his heart. He knew for the best how kind Hikaru is, therefore the anxiety grew stronger. The anxiety Hikaru would leave him for Inoo’s sake since she knew Inoo’s feeling towards him.

A/N: Ah… finally… this story was done… Thank you very much for everyone who read the story… bear with my lateness to update… I don’t know whether you have same thought as me for continuing the story. It is still unclear whether Yabu and Hikaru continue their wedding, isn’t it? I’m sorry for making an ending like this… The purpose of ‘The Waited Day’ was for revealing the secret amongst them and as a continuation of ‘First and Last Love’ and ‘Your True Love’. I’ll continue the story [with different title] but I have too many ideas, a happy, a sad, and a tragic one ... Besides, recently I have a tendency to write somehing tragic... so I think it's better end the story as the ceromony is going to be held... Ah... I need a bit inspiration from you ... Maybe you can give much better idea and erase my tendency to write a tragic love story… So… please write down your idea…
And… please read the side story later, each JUMP has one story as the lead role…
