How long does it take to chase the taste of mayo out of your mouth?
See, for lunch, I ordered a sandwich at Publix. And I hate mayo, so in my order, I asked for no mayo. They repeated it, and sure enough it was right.
I get my sandwich, I take a few bites and notice something tastes distinctly off. Sure enough, the whole thing was slathered in mayo. And oddly enough, my parents' sandwich had no mayo when they'd ordered it with mayo.
Yes, I see where it got mixed up. I don't see how, however. Mine was a half-sub, theirs a whole. Wouldn't it be easy to say "Half-sub: no mayo, whole sub: with"? Considering they got everything else about the orders right!
Mom and I traded bread. I'd eaten...maybe a third of my sandwich? And I still have the taste and texture of the mayo left in my mouth.
Blech.
