pus filled pain

So I thought I just had the flu. 100/101 degree temperature, slight cough, sore throat, headache, muscle aches, etc. Well, I went to the doctor today because my throat wasn't getting better and I was concerned about my immune system as I keep getting sick. They can't do tests to see if I have a freak genetic disorder until after I'm well. However, when he looked in my mouth he was like, "Whoa...you have strep tonsillitis. You've got pus all over your tonsils." I'm thinking, I didn't know strep would make you feel like you had the flu. No wonder it's hard to swallow and keeps hurting. It seems like it hurt worse the first day, so maybe my body is adjusting to the pain. Anyway, I go home and being the demented-obsessed-with-medical-things person that I am, I take a flashlight and mirror and have a look for myself. I have never seen so much pus in my life. I've seen like a white speck, but not like this. He was telling me of a little girl whose mother passed out when he showed her the pus, and said that mine wasn't quite that bad, but it was close. Seriously, if you can stomach it and the doctor says something like that to you, look. It truly is englightening.
