Mother is currently sleeping now. Hopefully when she wakes up she'll be in a better mood - earlier she was in a rather foul one as she didn't get enough rest last night. This is an acceptable reason as any to be mean and ornery, but she doesn't have to take it out on her kids.

I suppose I could wax something eloquent about this holiday and its importance to the millions of people around the world.
