I woke up at 6:30 today in order to catch a 7:05 bus for my trip to Carol Woods. Today was our first day of clinical training, though we didn't do much of it, given how the schedule was mostly touring the facilities, going through patient I mean, resident care (there are no patients, only residents, in a long-term care facility!), HIPAA laws, safety procedures, etc....
It's a pretty nice place, though, and the experience wasn't that bad, besides the whole getting up way too early thing. For our first real day of clinical on Wednesday, we were partnered up so that it won't be too scary when the time to put all our skills to work comes. But eventually we will be separated, and by the end of the clinical trials we'll each have two residents to look after. I only hope I can be up for it then.
Carol Woods is a very well set-up community center. Oh, it costs loads to be in it, I'm sure, and the wait list is years long, but I think the people living there feel it's worth it. If I have a nest egg and I'm in my old age, I might consider going there to live. After, of course, I finish my traveling around the world. :D
