Geekiest wake up alarm?
So I had an unexpected wake up alarm this morning. An unusual constant beeping from downstairs woke me up and for a moment I couldn't figure out what it was, then the penny dropped, I'd run out of credit on the electric meter (I have one of those pesky meters that use a top up key) and the UPS's had kicked in and were now sounding the critical shut stuff down now beep. So I run down stairs and stuff the key in the meter to use the backup credit before the UPS's fail and all is good again. So, if you want me out of bed in a hurry, just sound the UPS failure immanent alarm.
