How time simply flies by.  Engineering camp was fun, probably one of my favorite weeks of the summer. I guess more so the people than the actual activities that we did. I’m so glad that I had Sonia there with me, and then I also got to see my sister everyday and go up to her dorm. It was really nice to get the dorm experience, in spite of the fact that my roommate liked to hit me with pillows while I was sleeping. We got to do cool stuff though. I pretended I was actually helping to build the hovercraft, and then watching movies was fun. My overall favorite was the scavenger hunt. They told us to wear comfortable clothes…and I was like pshh I am not going to get that into it and do hardcore running. However, once I saw we were way in the lead, the competitiveness kicked in! The clues led us to a building where there was a counselor. We had to complete an activity such as: throwing paper balls backwards into a bucket, completing acronyms (i.e. SWE-Society of Women Engineers), water relays, gum bubbles, math problems, and building structures from toothpicks and gumdrops. The last one messed us up so we ended up coming in second. It was really fun. And then the whole NASA thermal protection system (our weeklong project) was cool. Our team was the first one to get it to last the longest...and then other people started copying our design. I know...the gall! They made it more cost effective and weight effective...so yeah. That gave me the excuse to say that I’m just not cut out for engineering. *feign a disappointed face.* I still don’t know what I want to be yet. Oh the possibilities! Sonia and I got “Most Spirited.”

So then when I came back Friday, it felt so good to be back. I gained a newfound appreciation for the place I call home. Then Sunday was grandparents then sleepover with Sheila, Amritha, and Neha. I kind of fell asleep, but the morning was really fun. Then I found out I had to give a speech at our LIT graduation, and they didn’t tell me what I was supposed to talk about. I started tennis lessons Monday night again. I don’t know…I think it would have been better to just go out and hit and improve my strokes. Hopefully, these lessons will help. Graduation was on Wednesday, and then Thursday was Gurupoornima bhajans! It felt so nice to be back in the old center with the many memories and vibrations. I started this new thing where I do 300 crunches a day, drink 8 glasses of water, and eat 3 raw fruits or vegetables. It’s going well. Yesterday was Sunsplash! It was much more fun than I expected it to be. I got to ride the new Sidewinder ride which is definitely scary. I had to be in the front…and it was this free-falling feeling. My head kind of snapped back…but I thought it was really cool. I rediscovered the thrill of roller coasters and such this year. My violin lesson was yesterday, and I have a lot of new stuff to work on. Whenever my teacher plays, I am just dumbfounded. Lately when I’ve been playing, I’ve noticed how the clearly my violin brings out the low and high notes. *sigh* I can’t wait for the day when I’ll sound good. = Anyhow, I watched Miss Congeniality II last night. It wasn’t as good as the first one. I remember the first one was one of my favorite movies.

This morning I woke up, and my mom was like there’s a surprise for you! I love my friends so much. Like an unfathomable amount. It’s just starting to dawn on me just how precious people are. I thought that in life, it’s more about self-discovery, and what you learn about yourself, and how you give to other people. Now I’ve also started to realize that it’s relationships that you develop with people as well. Oh man I am waiting for my schedule and it hasn’t come yet. Why am I so excited to LEARN? There’s something about high school that is just so appealing. At least we have three more weeks of summer. I finally have some time where I don’t have a structured day or something planned (besides tennis). I did that livejournal entry time chart thing, and most of my entries were at eight p.m. Interesting. Ok, so I should probably go. Wait! One more thing…I finished reading Cat’s Cradle so I’m open to book suggestions! HARRY POTTER was good...but I wish it was longer...so I wouldn’t have to face the reality that now there is just one book left.
