This is attempt #2 at updating my LJ; the first time, it went retarded and erased my long rant! :smacks LJ:
My day in math class was pretty pleasant as always, especially because of my friend, Gio ;) Hmm... I think I will write a separate thread about Gio because he’s pretty interesting and deserves to have his own THREAD!
After math, I stopped over to pick up Matthew because he was going to see a movie -Too Fast, Too Furious- with his friends. I was earlier than expected and no longer had to pick up his “friend” Sara up, too, so I took him with me to Funcoland. At Funcoland, I proceeded to trade in all the old PS1 games and hardware as well as the quirky SNES console that Seester bought from them last year.
I was able to trade most of the games and some controllers + the SNES for ~$98 of store-credit, but they wouldn’t let me trade in the PS1 ($10) because of the stickers Chris affixed on the lid during his youth. Alas, I started to take the stickers off and it became apparent that this was not going to be an easy thing to do. As soon as the first sticker came off, there was a second and even a third layer of sticker. Imagine years and years of being stuck and constantly being warmed by the heat the PS1 generates... MAN!
It was getting close to the time Matt would have to be @ Pac to meet up with his friends, so we left Funcoland and I took the PS1 with me into the cooled theater to continue peeling off the stickers and residue. This of course carried on for a total of 45 minutes. I returned to the store after Matt went inside for his flic, only to continue cleaning the dang thing for another 45 minutes! GRRR… That manager, let me tell you >_< He gave me a whole roll of paper towels and cleanser to help get the goop off, which hardly helped. In the process, I managed to rip the bottom of my fingernail off the nail bed :ouch:
When it was all said and done, it was time to be tested. He plugged it in and of course it wouldn’t work! GRRRR!!!! More than 1.5 hrs passed and I was sweating in a nasty boy store for $10 credit. Kid, PLEASE! In the end, I was able to earn only $108.58, which will be used to purchase a Gameboy SP when Software Etc. restocks them this Friday.
