I just considered posting to TPP, but screw that. See, I actually read the rules and my GOD are they rigid. >_>
Not saying it's not a perfectly good site for fiction, more power to those of you that use it etc, but I am NOT going to sit and pick through my formatting just to post on that one site because they have that... odd and old-fashioned uploading mechanism. Uploading as html cures the worst of it (although it line-breaks at odd times, but screw that... again, NOT going there to manually shift through it when it would be perfectly fine if one could UPLOAD it properly!) but they don't accept paragraphs (as in
), so I have to sit and pick through and remove paragraphs in order to get validated.
Yeah. Not going to happen.
Also that whole... "more than 5 comma mistakes and you're OUT!" rule just gives me flashbacks to another -- extremely ridiculous -- site I once posted to that rejected me for failing to put a full stop after an ellipsis.
Just for your information -- I've seen published scientific texts as well as literary works that "failed" on that account, and this is bloody fan fiction.
And they demand to know the name of your beta. As if people wouldn't just make someone up if they didn't have one...(.) Or is it because it has to be someone they know?
No. Just... no.
Sorry about that, but no.
