ZZZzzz

I was invited to do the Dramione Advent again this year and it just occurred to me that this meant I was nominated and I forgot to tell you guys my decision.

I'm so sorry to those who nominated me, but I opted out of it this year. I've already had to flunk out of a couple of things I had signed up for in the past few months and, frankly, I didn't feel like letting anyone else (including myself) down by making promises I wasn't sure I could keep. My mental state simply isn't one where I can produce anything with any kind of outside requirements - and certainly not on a deadline. Maybe next year if it's still running and I'm nominated again. :)

I'm still feeling brain dead and Kupo's 3rd birthday is next Saturday. :-O So got enough to do in general. I do count on posting something (either an update to COCK, the H&V Anniversary Challenge I never completely finished, or one of the Bingo Prize fics) before the end of the year, though. That's as much of a promise as I'll make.

In pregnancy/health news, today I learned that I had a UTI. I was quite surprised, since I thought UTIs meant BUUUUUUUURRRRNNN when peeing (never had one before, so what do I know?) but was told that it's quite common that pregnant women don't really feel anything off. Well. I do have an occasional burning pain between my legs but, you know, I generally assume that's my pelvis because that's how that feels half the time, so who knows. In any case, this is all TMI I'm sure, and they gave me some pills so it should clear up in a few days.

The midwife estimated that the kid is currently about 1300-1400g. I was side-eyeing that a bit, since a random e-mail told me a few days ago that ~1000g was the norm when you hit 28 weeks, but she didn't seem to think 1300g was anything but perfect at this stage, so I guess I'll trust the professional.

I am a little apprehensive because I had an OGTT done at 27wks and my numbers were 8.1/8.4 (taken from each ear) after two hours. They didn't draw any blood before I drank the solution, though, and didn't really seem to care as long as the number was below 10, but my google-fu tells me that a number higher than 7.8 can mean pre-diabetic so idk. I know it'll probably clear right up after the pregnancy, but still.

DON'T WANT NO ELEPHANT BABY, OKAY? (Also don't want to give my baby diabetes.)

Had my blood count checked recently too. Apparently she decided to do that because I mentioned sometimes having palpitations and she listened and found my heartbeat to be very fast. I was at a 7.8 there (target range 7-10) though, so they just told me to keep eating my iron pills. I'm trying to eat all my vitamins and crud, but the pills have to be spaced out. Ugh. -_- Currently I'm supposed to be eating 1 multivitamin, 2 calcium, 3 iron, and 4 antibiotic pills a day. In order to not have them interfere with each other, this means taking pills 5 times a day. Three of those times (the iron) I'm not supposed to be having any dairy or caffeine with it, which means I really can't take them with my meals because I'm trying to get enough calcium through dairy to not get osteoporosis even though I forget the damn calcium pills. :P Blergh.

We received the outerwear (rain- and thermal wear) and other stuff I'd ordered and it's awesome. Really great quality. Kupo loves wearing it. :) I'm glad I didn't go with the stuff from the department store because, frankly, I checked the stuff out they had and it wasn't really that much cheaper but the quality of most of it was awful.

Bought a couple of RPG games for the Wii. Hoping they'll arrive tomorrow. Also hoping they will give me many hours of distraction from being completely and utterly bored out of my mind and unable to do much but stare into space or browse the internet from my position here on the sofa. I'm an optimist like that.

I have this idea that maybe I had something interesting to put in here somewhere, but I forgot what it was... meh. Think I'll just go away now.
