Although I never announced I was gone.
I was going to bring my netbook to Copenhagen and get all sorts of things written, but then guess what? We couldn't find it. We still haven't found it. It's really annoying. I mean, I use dropbox for my writing so didn't lose any of it, and the fan is broken in the netbook so it was kind of hobbling along on its last leg, but that doesn't make it all right for it to be gone. Bah. I hope we find it. Can't really afford to get a new one.
At least I slept a lot over there, I suppose. A two hour nap each day suddenly became the norm. >_>
The reason why we'd gone this time wasn't solely to visit Maz's family. It was also so he could throw a bachelor party for his bff who's getting married in England next month. It was a combined goodbye to single life and the place he'd grown up. And it turned out to be a smashing success, so go Maz!
'Course, the wank leading up to it was kind of eye-roll worthy. Maz had to deal with other participants trying to run the show the way they wanted it rather than the way the groom-to-be wanted it. Like e.g. the groom-to-be wanted certain women present because they were mates of his/important to him and some of the males were making a fuss, saying it should only be guys.
Dudes, groom's wishes trump all, sorry to say. Also, get your misogynist asses out of here. It's 2011. People can have close platonic relationships across the genders. No, really.
It wasn't one of those strip club kind of deals anyway. They did paint ball. And listening to the groom-to-be's kid brother's band performing at a local school. And pizza. And the local soccer team's last match of the season. And then a barbecue, followed by drinking (ok, there was drinking all along) and basically hanging out and partying until four in the morning.
Kupo and I were present for the band, pizza and barbecue, even. And the groom-to-be's family (yes, including his mother and sister) were present for everything as well. And the groom-to-be was wearing a constant goofy grin, he was so happy. Hell, he even said he was extremely happy to see Kupo and me there, because he hadn't thought we could make it. I felt a little bad then that Kupo and I won't make the actual wedding, but only a little. We're talking so much $$$ for us to go and I simply won't have the energy to really have any fun. I mean, I went to bed with Kupo at the night of the bachelor party, in spite of taking a two-hour nap in the middle of the day!
Anyroad, people had fun and now we're back home. Maz is off temping at an after-school club, although he didn't appreciate getting asked to today. He seemed to basically be fishing for me to go "aww, poor baby, then don't go" but what I did say was more along "money, money, money, go, go, go!!" XD
