My CD-ROM seems to be 'disconnected' and or broken.

It used to work. But now it won't play a music cd, it won't read the photo cd Ben-nii made for me. :(
The driver is connected and my troubleshooting says that there is most likely something wrong with the hardware....I'm not advanced enough in computer to do anything else on my own.
