ハロハロ!!ウツキです。
During my sembreak, I got to watch a couple of great dramas, in which, tears fell out of my eyes on every episode.
Starting with My Girl 『マイガール』, a great story of a simple guy, with simple dreams.Masamune played by Aiba Masaki had his ups and downs with his own life and what lies ahead of him. He didn't know that the girl whom he had loved when he was a university student bore his child. A great struggle between being a father and attaining one's dreams was shown in this drama. Somehow, being a father is also hard ne~? regardless if you know that you have a child coming or not. His child was very mature to know that his father is struggling with himself that she didn't want to trouble him with things like school. For the child though, she had gone through a lot, her mother died on an accident, she grew up until she was about 6 or 7 with a single mother, and then she is caught in between by the struggles of her father, it's admirable of her given by her age that she's understanding and perfectly knows what's happening around her. I seldom see children of that age like that now-a-days~
The 2nd drama that I watched was MAOU 『魔王』, a story of a detective and a lawyer. The drama is full of mystery and that in every episode we find out what is behind of these mysteries, while at the same time new mysteries show up. Serizawa Naoto; played by Ikuta Toma, had a past that he want to atone, which is why being a detective is what he wanted to be, given the fact that he's family background, he comes from a rich family, he refuses to take over his father business and continued to pursue being a detective. His past was rather harsh, at first part of the drama, it was shown that he killed Manaka Tomoo's brother Manaka Hideo through a stab in the stomach. But at the last part of the drama, it was opposite of what happened; It was merely an accident. When they both fell on the ground, the knife was accidentally twisted towards Hideo's stomach, which caused the stab to be fatal, Hideo being on top of Naoto. Afraid Naoto was back then, he ran away and told his father, the father however, doesn't want to have his son to have a bad name, hence forth he made arrangements with a lawyer to prove that it was self-defense. Actually speaking, self-defense wasn't the point. Just an accident that made someone die. So still Naoto must have been in jail for that though not like death penalty.
However, because of what happened to Hideo, Hideo and Tomoo's mother also died, which led for Manaka Tomoo to seek revenge towards Naoto and his family. Along his journey, because he was homeless, he met Naruse Ryou, also a homeless boy. They became bestfriends when one day, Naruse Ryo died because of steel bars falling on top of him. After the incident, Manaka Tomoo switched names, saying that 'Manaka Tomoo' is dead and that he is Naruse Ryou. Manaka Tomoo/Naruse Ryou; played by Ohno Satoshi, became a well-known lawyer, coined as the "Angel Lawyer" because he won all of his court trials. Manaka Tomoo (I'd rather call him by his real name than of his takenidentity name) at this time had two faces.
A face who wanted peace. who is kind-heartened and approachable, while there is another face, seeking revenge for his dead family, who wouldn't want to open his heart to love because he believes that he doesn't need love. He started his plan to kill everyone involved with Serizawa Naoto; his friends, his family. But at the midst of this plan, he met Shiori.
Shiori; played by Kobayashi Ryoko, is a psychometric. She can see leftover images by just touching the item. She was one of the witness of the Hideo's death. It was also Hideo's death that she gained her powers. During the drama, Tomoo met Shiori at a public library, and gradually along the episodes, Tomoo started to love her. At first he intended to kill Shiori because she is also one of those people around Naoto, but then everytime she was with Shiori, he started doubting his plans of revenge. If it wasn't for Yamano who kept of bringing him back to the darkness, Tomoo would have had stopped his revenge. Tomoo sought death at the end of the drama as well, because the law cannot forgive him for killing people, though indirectly, he planned everything according to his liking.
The ending of this drama was really tear-jerking. Both Naoto and Tomoo want to end all of it, Naoto decided to shoot Tomoo while Tomoo, already stabbed wanted to be killed by Naoto as part of his plan. Naoto refused shooting him and caused Tomoo to personally kill himself, after struggling for the gun, a gunfire was heard; The shot was on Naoto. It must have been hard on Tomoo to feel what Naoto felt when he accidentally shot Tomoo's brother, that he killed someone on accident, and that he was all ready to die, but Naoto told Tomoo to live earnestly, that it would have been much better if Tomoo killed Naoto even before instead of having those people close to him die. "Forgive me and also forgive yourself." is what Naoto said. Both of them died at the end of the drama. D: Although I didn't want them to die.. ;o;
And finally, the lastest drama that I've watched (I just finished it an hour ago) is SMILE 『スマイル』
It's a story of Love and Justice, along with prejudices and discrimination. Bito; played by Matsumoto Jun, is a Half Filipino, Half Japanese (whoo! Kababayan ko yan!). Even though he grew up with discrimination and prejudices all around him, he still lived through harsh life with a smile, even if during in his minor years, he joined Hayashi Seiji, played by Oguri Shun, who actually ruined Bito's life (he was literally a bad guy there), he had a dream, to have his own restaurant, and a multinational one. Hayashi Seiji's personality however, is quite understandable since he was raised up by violence by his father, and was abandoned by his mother. It was a psychological disadvantange, he wasn't raised up properly, he wanted to change by given the fact that he doesn't have anyone to serve as a pillar, he continued on threatening people and hurting people. On the other side of the story, the person who I admire the most in this drama was Hana-chan; played by Aragaki Yui. Even though that she found out about Bito's past and who Bito is, what is happening with Bito's life, she stood beside him, even risking her life to save and protect Bito. She had a very bad past as well, a past that had caused her to lose her voice, but at the end of the drama she was able to regain her voice because the day of the death penalty that was bestowed upon Bito would be the day after. For 5 years, Bito pushed Hana-chan away, trying to tell everyone to not allow her to see him, but deep inside Bito's heart, he love Hana-chan more than anyone else, and that he kept on thinking about her everyday by making Pig Origami's. I cried so much on the first verdict that the court bestowed, which was the death penalty because it was mostly based upon prejudice and discrimination with a combination of a half baked truth that had more influence that of the real truth that was out there, and that it only need searching and persuading. I really thought Bito was going to die, but then, by God's grace, Ito Kazuma; a lawyer was able to find Hayashi's father to tell the whole truth of what happened in the year 2000 and to confirm what happened to the 2009 case of Bito and Hayashi. Ito Kazuma was actually a Korean-Japanese, but disliked also by people, he abandoned his Korean identity to be naturalized as a Japanese. He started to look into himself when he met Bito, from then on, he stood by his birth name without a shame. It really had a very happy ending, Bito was released, both of them handling a restaurant (or maybe a stall with seats infront) with alot of foreigners and Japanese ordering food and at the same time smiling. The restaurants name? SMILE. :D
=============================
I've noticed that all of these were Arashi-lead dramas, I was supposed to download Ryuusei no Kizuna but I guess I don't have that much time. But, All of these dramas for me are certified S~ not because Janizu boys are there, but the story itself. It really gives us something to ponder on, something to smile on, and something new to have to lead. God doesn't leave His children alone in misery, at His utmost strength he gives His children all sorts of events to make them stronger, to make them realize that what they've done was bad and to make them responsible people. Humans are weak. , as Ito Kazuma have said. And knowing that God is always by our side, we can accomplish things that we never think we could. :)
Thanks to Stormy Subs for all of these great dramas! :D All of my screencaps came from their subbed videos. :D
