Haven't posted on here for a while; in fact I haven't looked at LJ in any way shape or form since my last post so sorry guys; I'll be going through my flist in a mo to see what's been going on.

From Friday through to Tuesday I had the revered position of looking after next door while he went away. This of course meant kitty-feeding duties, and I made sure I got plenty of time with those cute little fluffy kittens. Obviously, the nitty-gritty stuff (ie kitty litter changing) had to be done also, though Zak and Ged also helped with this.

I've had this week off work; initially I booked off the Saturday so I could get lots of rest before the stomp-heaven that is PRoE live. I am very much looking forward to this gig especially if Krat puts "Antiglobalist i" in the set. *hints*...

When I booked all my holiday for the year, work said it was easier if I had the whole week, so I just went along with it. As it happens, it was a very good decision to go along with it because we have had the first proper taste of Spring/Summer this week! Warm and sunny, I have been sitting outside every day, mostly reading a book.

Sunday, I visited Mum and in the afternoon I mowed the lawn and got the flower beds dug over. This is the initial 'phase' of the garden; I have turned the soil and removed the weeds for the most part. Phase two is waiting for any weeds that I might have failed to remove in their entirety (mostly dandelions, *sigh*) to resurface, so I can properly dig out their root systems and have a clean flower bed once more. Phase three, and this is the interesting bit, is actually putting plants in! Zak's aunt has some plants to be dug up and planted here, all he has to do is fetch them and we can plant them. We will wait and see if we actually do end up with plants in our garden for once.

Monday I underestimated the strengthof the sun and sat outside for a couple of hours with a book. Sam Bourne "The Righteous Men" for anyone interested in my reading material, and it was a very good book I must add! I didn't put cream on til I was a good hour or more in and I paid the price, for I went quite pink.

A warm bath (to draw blood to the skin) and lots of aloe vera in the evening helped to bring the sunburn down. Tuesday I was outside again, and read the rest of the book, only this time I had my back to the sun.
Yesterday I started a new book, "Odd Hours" by Dean Koontz, the latest of the 'Odd Thomas' series by him. I'm nearly to the end of it now, for I was sat outside again today continuing my read. I had Ged for company yesterday; he stayed overnight and left in the afternoon for work; I think he might visit again tomorrow.

Tomorrow then, if the weather stays nice I will be outside again for most of the afternoon. It won't take me long to finish the book, and I may well do some more work on the garden. Later I will go to the gym. The last few gym visits has seen me doing my full hour on the cross trainer on level thirteen without any pauses. It is getting easier!!!
