So... Since there aren't that many Tsviet-fics that I haven't read that are up lately, I've been drifting into reading the longer Mary Sues. One of them, "The Mauve" is like reading a Twilight-esque fucking trainwreck. Apparently this Sue is so sooper speshul as being "more intelligent" and "having more MP" than anyone else. It's just... NO.
But, while this fic isn't badly written in general, I think it means something that she has what could be such a large misunderstanding about environment. As a lover of Silent Hill, I'm surprised this didn't strike me sooner. We spend ages agonizing over characterization. Hell, I still have trouble with Argent, Nero and Shelke. But what do we REALLY know about DG itself? I mean, REALLY know? We know its not exactly charm school, closer to a military encampment with strict standards, but what are the specifics?
How educated does one need to be in order to be a DeepGround soldier?
What, exactly, are their standards? How many facets are there to this standard?
How does the average day for a DG soldier go? Does it change?
How many promotions are there? It feels like the Online Mode tried to answer this, but to what degree did they succeed?
What is the role of a scientist in DeepGround? How committed to the program are they, compared to the soldiers?
How comparable are the DG soldiers to regular SOLDIERs? How comparable are the Tsviets to the Turks?
How many DG candidates make soldier? Commander? Tsviet?
