Haunted Companions:

You and I, we are
Still haunted daily,
By inner demons and
The specters of unholy sin.

Spirits rise, at night
To rattle relentlessly, as if they
Were great tormentors
Who mock us as we sleep.

Yet, you and I, we are now
Enemies and friends at once,
Through trial and bloody error
We have passed.

You and I, we are
Still haunted daily,
Attempting to discern whether or not
We will forgive each other
For our misdeeds.

You and I, we tolerate
And begin to understand
We, who possess not yet forgiveness,
Possess a deep, and silent, friendship.
