I'm letting Flight sit. I need to let it sit. There is so much more I want/need to with it and I just don't have the energy or the time to be able to focus on the deeper aspects of world building and making sure my universe is hypothetically accurate and real. I don't mind letting it be for awhile, it's been a big part of my brain for the past year and a half (Longer if you count the original idea), and I think my brain is happy for a little vacay.

Work is busy, back in the office for the summer, loving and hating it both the same. It's always the same conundrum at work, at any job really. But  there is good and fun in this summer. I am working on something NEW.

This means research, brain storming, experimenting, being creative! Not that revising isn't creative (is it? ;)).

Pirouettes is going to be a heavy research book. I'm method writing this one (like method acting). Over the next few months I will be practicing ballet, I have a tour at the National Ballet Academy, I will be painting a lot, and today I am going to my local town museum which houses artifacts from the Victorian era in Canada. I'm also doing some more research into hauntings, spirits, possession and obsession. I am incredibly excited to write something new, at work I ache all day to go home and write and research and experiment, and this, my dear friends, is what writing is all about. The will to tell a story, the almost intolerable urge to get it out and share and make it beautiful.

I will undoubtedly have many fun research stories ahead (which I will photo-document for your enjoyment). So my question of the day is this:

Tell me a fun/crazy/scary/beautiful research story of your own. What lengths have you gone, what depths have you plundered, and above all what did you learn?
