Way Too Hot Continues
Well, way too hot started last week, and we had two days over a hundred at the apartment, and poor Greg reeled off the foregoing poem in a befuddled IM one of those afternoons. I only had to tolerate it during the evenings when the heat had only begun to fade, and Tuesday night, I think it was, it didn't even drop below 70 for the low overnight. Yech!
Becca loves baths now, and she doesn't protest except when we take her out. Her grandma Wendy gave her large Duplo blocks, and those are her bathtub toys right now. That second evening of 100+ weather, I went ahead and joined her in there when I got home. Just too stinking hot!
Now it's "just" in the 80's, but my blood has gotten used to much cooler weather. I don't even OWN any shorts anymore. My boss says that only 13% of residential buildings in Washington have air conditioners. We have four fans, one in each bedroom, and two in the living room. On the hottest days, Greg even turned on the one over the stove, that doesn't suck anything out, but at least it moves air.
Please, God, don't let is stay this hot until late September! Thank you.
