turkey!

This week was okay.

Thanksgiving was okay. It's always weird when (great)Aunt Janet and Bill (2nd cousin) are there...it's awkward and quiet...plus without my Uncle Randy and Aunt Joanne, it's quiet already. Once they left, things got better.

My sister and I looked through some old pictures of my Nana and her family. She was definitely a babe, haha...but wayyy different than I would've expected. We have the same legs and feet...the same body...kinda weird because I thought we had nothing in common except our height, haha!

They always find a way to fit politics into everything "...blah blah blah, who's a Republican by the way, blah blah blah..." and it makes me fall asleep almost instantaneously. Some parts are hilarious...like I found out that my mom made my Uncle Dave a mug that looks like a...boob...complete with nipple and all!

We also talked about my Mimi...my Nana's mom...or my great grandmother. Apparently, Mimi's mom (my great great grandmother) came to the US from Canada to visit her aunt in Boston and find a job. She got a job working for a lawyer, and they had an affair. He basically treated her like a princess: brought her to concerts, bought her things...my Nana has the ruby ring he gave to her and the gold locket he gave to her with her initials carved into the front. It's 100% gold, and worth probably around $800 nowadays...and would've been incredibly expensive back in the early 1900's when he bought it for her. He also got her pregnant, haha...and paid for all her medical bills and kept it all hushed up. She had my Mimi and went back to Canada where her father bought her a wedding ring and told her to never tell about her affair and to tell people that her husband died of pneumonia and was a 3rd cousin with the same last name so she wouldn't have to change it.

She never told anyone who the real father was, so it's a big mystery in our family. Kind've interesting.

Anyways, Diego and I talked on the phone for like 3 hours the other night. I miss talking to him. We were going to go to the movies tonight, but I feel disgusting and awful and just plain blah for reasons you don't need to know about, haha. Jess wants to hang out, too...but I just don't feel like doing anything. Plus, I need to save up my energy for shopping tomorrow! Finally! I can't wait to see Britt and everyone...I miss them!

Hopefully I'll find a semi dress and get lots of clothes...and hopefully I won't be stampeded by crazy shoppers.

Poor John is working security at Target right now, haha. Ohh, Black Friday.
