Will there be a Samurai Jack movie in 2011? "All signs point to 'no'."

The Hollywood rumor mill's been busy churning again. There's an article at Pajiba.com reporting some rumors from a "so-far unproven source" "who claims to be familiar with the Sony Animation studio."
The part that's of interest to SJ fans is this:
The same source also reports that Sony Animation is developing a movie called Dark Samurai, which is a animated Samurai movie set in the future. Jerome Chen, who did the visual effects on Beowulf and The Polar Express is being considered for the directing gig. For what that’s worth.

Likewise, over at Sony, Genndy Tartakovsky - who wrote, directed, and produced the animated television series “Star Wars: Clone Wars” and “Samurai Jack,” is up to direct an animated comedy called Fixed, about a dog that doesn’t want to be.

These rumors, IF they prove true, make the chances of a Genndy-directed animated SJ movie look pretty bleak. If Genndy's working with Sony on a dog pic, and Sony has a non-SJ "animated Samurai movie set in the future" in development, then how will Genndy be able to work on an SJ picture with Frederator Films and Paramount?

I dunno. Don't let's hold our breath waiting for an SJ movie to be made, that's for sure.
