I should probably finally wake up here since it's already 11:35am and I have just barely rolled out of bed (jumping from the bed to the computer to listen to music doesn't count as being up). I am listening to this INCREDIBLE band that Meg introduced me to a week or so ago. They're called Averi, and I haven't been able to stop listening to their CD "Direction of Motion" since she lent it to me. And this is the coolest thing: they're coming to afterHOURS September 24! Is it bad that I'm excited for a concert that is over a month away? I already have it written down on my calendar and I have no idea what time it is. haha
I've been trying to get into the habit of seeing more live shows whenever I can. It's tough because they are so expensive, but if it's a good show then I think the "cheap Jew" in me can take a rest for a bit. I saw the most amazing show a month ago with Carline...3 Doors Down and Nickelback. It was the best show and we had the best seats because Universal is awesome and Jocelyn is amazing like that. Gavin DeGraw was playing in Copley yesterday but I didn't get a chance to go. I had really thought about it because it was free, close by, and really you need no other reason than "Dude, it's Gavin DeGraw." I'm told he's amazing live, but I'll just have to wait to find out.
It was totally cool though because I had dinner and hung out with Angela for a bit and then went to help her and Matt in the studio for their Recording II projects. Matt played sax and I jumped on the drums (which felt so great because I haven't gotten a chance to really sit down and play the set in a while...I wish I could bring my set up to school with me....what do you say roommates, oh pleeeeeeeaaaaaaaasssssssse lol). Matt and I played a short jazz improv jam; we both thought we sucked but it was a lot of fun. I hung out in the studio for a couple hours and tried to pick up on all the cool stuff about the console and recording and stuff. I'm taking Recording I in the fall, and probably II in the spring and after yesterday I really can't wait. I even started getting ideas for what I would do if I had that project. 0:) I was also talking to someone that was there working on a project for the class that follows the Adv. TV Production class I'm taking this fall. It sounds like a great class (following production is TV Field Production) and even though Matt says all the people working on that final project for the class are so stressed and hating the class, I think I might still venture to take it as well, just for the heck of it, to keep up with the TV interest.
I've rambled on enough for now. I really do have to do as the title of this post says and get up and have a day. I'm starving, and conveniently enough, it's lunch time. :) I'm supposed to play frisbee with Angela later so cross your fingers and hope the rain and thunderstorms hold up.
