I'm back from Slovenia! Had an uneventful trip, although a Croatian woman was kicked out of the plane before we took off because she told the stewardess who asked her to please stop speaking on her mobile phone and turn it off to go fuck herself. Weirdo. Lesson of the day, never swear at airline crew!
I came home to find a package of goodies sent to me from Brandeis. Stickers, pens, maps, calendars, brochures for Boston... The unfailing courtesy and politeness of the staff there is really impressive. I keep emailing them practically every day with questions about everything under the sun, and they always respond very quickly and efficiently. I'm getting more and more excited about America every day!
It's so good to be back home right now, though. There's just something about being in your own city, not living out of a suitcase, knowing where everything is, how everything is done and being in a place where you have friends and family that is so deeply comforting. My city isn't particularly special. It's got over 4 million people, things aren't always run efficiently, it's especially lacking in anything resembling a tourist attraction, natural beauty or exciting stores, but I still love it. Cos it's my city, you know?
