It's been an interesting year so far. Here's where you can find my writing as of today:
The Long Range: A series of 13 short stories that connect in various ways to establish a universe that I may want to play in later on. I started this work as a way to challenge myself to write a story a month and to explore different genres: science fiction, fantasy, horror, romance. Also to challenge myself to write like the Old Time Radio show anthologies did in the middle part of the 20th century. Combine my love of pulp stories and comic books and that's what it is. It's the first extended work I've tried in public since I finished my mini comic series Jackleg Comics in 2001.
The Penny Dreadful: My stories from
The Long Range are essentially being syndicated here alongside 9 other authors who are doing the same thing I am, and some are doing it better. This is a quality website to catch up with new fiction by new authors and if you're a reader, there's surely something there you'll want to keep up with.
The Dead Knight and the Squire: The brainchild of author Jens Altmann (AKA
black13), this is a round-robin novel whose first chapter will arrive next Monday. I'm sixth in line, so I've got a while before my first line shows up there, but I'm excited about the infinite possibilities of the title. You can follow us on LJ at
the_dead_knight.
Plus two other projects are out there waiting. I've turned one final draft in and I'm waiting for feedback on the second one, but both should see the light of day before the end of the year.
Additionally, when
The Long Range ends in June, I'll continue telling stories for free on the web. All said and done, TLR will be about 78,000 words long and I'd like to write more words than that from July 2010 through June 2011. If you're up for it, make sure to check it out and let me know what you think, will you?
