THIS is ambition
I've got an idea for a novel, pure fantasy. Perhaps a mashup of Michael Moorcock and Neil Gaiman, stylistically. It will take work to not be overly faithful to their notions as they've both tackled some of the mythology I'll need to use. It'll be strange for a native Kansan to try and write a novel in the style of famed British fantasists.
It came suddenly at dinner over vichyssoisse and bacon sandwiches. I have the villain and the motivation, I have the victim; I need the main character (likely a female), the setting, some more supporting characters and a plot.
With four months before NaNoWriMo I can get prepared for that event to sit down and pound out the first draft of this then. In the meanwhile I'll have to finish writing six or so more stories for my storysite before November. I mention it now and won't talk about it again until I've got more that makes it a real, solid thing.
Better get organized.
