Down in the depths of the Earth
In ragged, damp caverns
a beast lays dormant, asleep.
Warm light penetrates the darkest region of the cave,
Awakening the beast,
It tears through the cavern walls
Held back by the restraints of its formers,
But the beast will not be denied,
The cavern walls shatter and leaps into the light,
Warming itself in the sun, a new friendship
Eternally grateful, eternally free.

Note: I actually wrote this as a metaphysical poem for English class, I hope you enjoy it.
