The night had been bad. Just sitting there staring at her ceiling, thinking. The morning hadn't been much better though as she rolled out of bed and went downstairs.

"Didn't sleep?" Her mother looked just as tired. After their conversation she didn't quite look at Angie the same way. There was admiration and pity in her eyes.

Everything Angie had said... it all swirled in with the news she'd heard before bed.
Miles.

"You didn't either."
"Nightmares."
"Still?" Carloine nodded. she'd always had bad nightmares, realistic ones. A few times she would wake up in differet parts of the house or even in the street if the doors weren't bolted.
Nothing huge, Angie had always known it.

"Tea?" Angie asked, her mother smiling weakly. Angie assumed her mother could tell she'd been crying.
"Why didn't you sleep Angel?" Her mother stood at the counter, getting the milk from the fridge.
"Nightmares."
"You never get nightmares!" Caroline seemed more then shocked but looked a little more confused when Angie shook her head.

"Of the 'real' variety Mum." Nodding Caroline watched her daughters face as she plugged in the kettle.
"Do you want to talk?"

Angie suddenly remembered something Miles said to her the other night.

Ever consider you don't have to constantly talk to sit next to me?

"I'd prefer not to." Angie said rather calmly though her eyes felt hot, like they were burning.

"Alright. Alright, Angel." Instead her mother put the milk down and wrapped her arms around Angelina.
At first Angie didn't know what to do and just stood there.

"It's okay Angel." Her mom was warm and she remembered all those times she would fall and run to her mums arms. Her Dad would say to tough it out but Angie's Mommy would just hug her tightly.
Unable to just stand there Angie turned in her arms and hugged her mother, her shoulders shaking as the sobs started.

"It's okay baby Angel. We're both going to be okay." It wasn't until she heard her mothers cracking voice that she realized they were both crying, and it suddenly seemed okay to not hold back.
It was okay to cry in front of her mother. No more secrets, no more hiding, no more misunderstandings.

She was home.
