Looking to the future

Had a nice lie-in this morning. There really is nothing better than waking up with the person you love, cuddling closer, and then going back to sleep. Mmmm. Felt so good. I am desperately trying not to think of all the work I will have to do in the upcoming week. It's much nicer to live in the moment and pretend life can go on with this lazy pace ( Read more... )

Two years of Chinese class taught me something - I will probably never be fluent, but I can try haha.

But pronunciation takes a long time to develop, so don't feel ridiculous. Tones are really, really hard when you first start out. :)

Basic phrase time! How much of the following can you read? Or do you just know some pinyin? (I spent half a semester in nothing BUT pinyin, thank you Chinese teachers).
你好!我叫凯丽,你的名字是什么? :D

Oh I only was reading and pronouncing the phonetic english-spelled version. Lol. The next lesson was the characters and I was like "OH GOD, ANOTHER DAY" and paused it haha! However, I do remember that "nu" is woman and "nen" is men and food is fan and tai is vegetables. And that is what I learned. Hehe

Oh God. I want to Pinyin-ize everything. Having it just written as that is throwing me off. >.>;

Characters haha. Simplified ftw when you don't want to write out 30 strokes. But no, really, characters are fun AND frustrating. I spent four semesters slaving away over them. :D
