Blind dreams?
I was lying out in the sun on the grass at school the other day with my friend Kristen at lunch time, and I had a strange thought. Do blind people (and I mean people who were born that way, who have never seen anything) dream, and, of so, what is it like? Since dreams are comprised of images for most people, what would their dreams entail? Are they just sensations of touch, smell, taste, and sound, or do their unconscious minds create some sort of visual image to accompany their dreams?
And furthermore, how do blind people envision the world? With no reference, no way to understand colors or the vast scope of our world, how do they envision it? Can they imagine visual images? And if they do, how close or different are they to reality? What a strange idea, to go through life having never seen the sky, the ocean, the light of the sun, or even your own face.
