I've been working a lot lately. I do love my job, but it can be a little taxing sometimes. I hate the days when I close the store and wake up the next morning to open. It feels like an endless workday. I closed tonight. I open tomorrow. It's gross. However, since today was Sunday, the store was only open for seven hours. And since tomorrow is Christmas Eve, it will be open for the same again.
The best part about it is working with Dolly. She's my purple-headed co-worker, and I absolutely adore her. We've gotten to be fast friends, and it's nice. Tonight, we indulged a bit and went to see Sweeney Todd. Bravo, Tim Burton, bravo!
On the subject of this delightfully grotesque movie, I'm happy to say that I positively loved it. I personally love both Johnny Depp and Tim Burton movies, so this was another stellar combination for me. They've worked together so much that they have fallen into the perfect movie-making groove, and Sweeney Todd is proof. It was a cross between Edward Scissorhands, The Phantom of the Opera, The Texas Chainsaw Masacre, and Titus Andronicus. It was a signature Burton film, filled with obviously Burton-esque shot angles, lighting, etc. I don't want to talk about it too much because there are an unlucky few who haven't taken the opportunity to watch it. Vocally, Johnny was surprising, but lacked a certain power that is normally included in the stage productions. I think it worked well cinematically, but he would have failed on stage. I'm still pretty impressed though. He just likes to remind me exactly why I'm in love with him...
I'm talking it up too much, though. I AM pretty partial to both Johnny Depp and Alan Rickman. I've even slept with both of them before!!! Haha. Nah... Not really... Well... Kinda. Okay... Maybe a little. I dunno... Nah... Either way, I'd sex either of them up all day, all night. Let's just remind everyone how sexy these two gentlemen are, shall we?
