Oh I loved it! I loved all the subtle touches you did here. The story just kept making my heart clench up and go awwww. Like when Buffy realized Spike had saved the hot chocolate makings for her, that he'd stopped eating human food because she couldn't afford one more mouth to feed, that he made the drink for her when she said how tired she was.

It was all just perfect. Perfect. And that moment when she realized he'd made it just like her mom used to, oh that made me want to cry. But I'm in public so I 'manned' up lol.

You had me the entire way, following everything through Buffy's POV. It's one of your greatest strengths in writing. How you make the reader effortlessly slip into the skin of the character. I could feel how tired she was, how her eyes ached as she rubbed them, how overcome she was at recognizing the flavor of the hot chocolate.

Truly superb. A perfect vignette that fits so nicely into Season 7. Love it.

*blushes and grins at POV comment* Thank you so much! When reading back through my stories I always worry about being too distant from the character I'm writing about, so you have no idea how happy it makes me that you think I do a good job at it.

I'm so happy you liked it and that all those little things made you go awww. And don't you hate it when you're reading fanfiction surrounded by people? When I was in highschool I would go to the library to read during study hall and I always had to tone down my reactions, or else people looked at tme funny.
