Although I've not been posting much, I have been keeping up with TAST
Stitch 63 is Scroll Stitch
I did a curvy border around the raised cross stitch flowers
Then I thought it would make a good filling stitch. It would be better if I'd drawn the pansy better, but the idea works. Those were in perle 8. On the right side of the photo, I tried it in knitting yarn. The curl in scroll stitch wants to flip. I like the stitch better when it stays flat. This is more of a problem in the knitting yarn than the perle.
Stitch 64 is Top Knotted Buttonhole.
The yellow perle 8 is two layers of the stitch. In the brown craft thread I alternated it with the scroll stitch.
This is Stitch 65 -- Buttonhole Bar
At first I didn't know what to stitch. I like doing this stitch, but had no ideas. I stitched the pink in knitting/crochet yarn. That's five bars in a continuous line. Then I took the perle 5 and tried layering. That gave me the idea to make a tree trunk/stump. I added the one the tan perle 5 to create fungi. The other stitches are pistil stitch, straight stitch and French knots. I love this and am working on another possibility for stumping this stitch.
Week 66 is Coral Stitch
Again, I didn't have any idea when I started. For some reason I thought I should throw down rows of it like pick-up sticks. I used crochet cotton. (I lost the size on these balls of thread, so I'm not sure. It's close to perle 5.) I thought they looked like barbed wire, so I made a section of fence. The coral stitch is silver Madeira. Other stitches are straight stitch, chain stitch, lazy daisy and back stitch.
At the left is more of the top knotted buttonhole stitch. I used two strands of crochet cotton in yellow and green and knitting yarn. I added some fly stitch in the green crochet thread.
Keeping tension is very difficult for me. It doesn't seem to matter whether I use a hoop or not. The top knotted buttonhole stitch in this photo was with a hoop. I don't remember it being tight as I stitched, so I don't understand it.
