Okay, so after calming down, thinking it over and talking it over with my parents, I went for TUFS accomodation. It's just too much cheaper and closer to pass up, and I didn't want to be the only TUFS student left at the guesthouse (particularly for the last month when there wouldn't be any ICU students either). However, the money I'll save on rent means I don't have to worry about spending on trains, so I'm sure I can just go visit people at the guesthouse whenever. If it's close enough that I would've commuted daily from TUFS, getting there won't be a problem :)

I've got about two weeks till I go away now, and final preparations are underway. This includes desperately trying to teach myself keigo in case it comes up on the placement test, and seeing people back home. I'm going down to Steph's housewarming party with Laura at her new place at uni, and staying Monday-Wednesday, so that should be a nice goodbye-for-a-year :D

And...that's about it for news. Much as having extra time for preparations and with family is both nice and useful, it is pretty boring here in England when everyone's blogging about Japan. Still, when I get out there and am actually confronted with the language, I'll probably wish I'd been able to stay home another couple of weeks!
