Seriously good news: I've got a JASSO scholarship for my time in Japan! It works out at over £500 a month, which will be so useful given that I'll be in Tokyo as well as private accomodation, and it should give me a bit extra for travelling! I had hoped I had a decent chance, given that my Japanese language module marks weren't brilliant, but still pretty good. Mind you, I'm not sure if marks do count as much as I thought, given that a certain person whose fics Leeds-tachi have read apparently got one :D
Went to sleep over at Amy's on Thursday for the last time for a year, and we watched House and GetBackers and talked about our various respective plot ideas for things we will probably never actually write. I realised with some shock that I haven't written anything longer than a page or two in about a year, and have resolved to get something done. If I haven't made a good start on something by NaNoWriMo, I'm going to seriously go for it, no matter how busy I am.
I've ordered 80,000 yen to take out to Japan. I really hope that's enough to cover the first installment of the rent as well as food and any sightseeing I do until I get a bank account. I'm also trying to revise kanji, but I'll have probably forgotten it all by the time I go out :D
